Shane Lowry was left to ru his luck at Quail Hollow as he missed the cut at the PGA Championship with the Irishman admitting he is very annoyed. A frustrated Shane Lowry was sent home packing from the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow feeling chewed up and spat out despite playing what he described as good golf. Yet, as the Irish golfer heads home, he has his sights firmly set on an intense few months ahead. In stark contrast to his mate Rory Mroyy’s four triumphs at the Charlotte, North Carolina course, Lowry seems to be dogged by bad luck there. His attention must now shift and regroup for the Open in July at Royal Port Trush and then looking towards the RDER Cup in September at Beth Page Black, New York. Lowry’s been a picture of vexation lately. His hopes at the Masters dissipated on the last day, leading to an abrupt exit from his postround interview. While last week saw him shying away from reporters post tournament after a late slump ended his chances at the truest championship, finishing behind Sep Straka. The golfer’s temper flared at Quail Hollow during Friday’s round. Following a T shot that lodged in a pitch mark with no relief granted, his frustration became palpable. Caught on tape, Lowry erupted. Fog this place, hammering his iron into the turf and flipping off his ball after making a begrudged bogey putt. A critical shot gone arry. Consequently saw him miss the cut line by one, ending two overpar for the tournament. Lowry openly expressed his frustration after a challenging round, saying, “I just got nothing today.” And adding that despite feeling as though he played well, he’s never excelled at this particular course.
