May 19—MITCHELL — The Region 4B boys and girls golf tournaments, scheduled for Monday, has been postponed due to wet conditions.
The tournament is now rescheduled to take place on Wednesday, May 21 at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell. The plan is to start the contest at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, with the boys starting off the tee at Hole No. 1 and the girls starting off Hole No. 10.

The participating teams in Region 4B include Andes Central/Dakota Christian, Avon, Bon Homme, Bridgewater-Emery, Burke, Corsica-Stickney, Ethan, Gregory, Hanson, Kimball/White Lake, McCook Central/Montrose, Platte-Geddes, Scotland/Menno, Tripp-Delmont/Armour and Wagner.
If the weather forecast forces a postponement from Wednesday, May 20, it will be moved to Tuesday, May 27 at Lakeview Golf Course. The top-40% of individuals at the region tournament, plus the top-two teams, will qualify to the Class B state golf tournaments in Watertown on June 2-3.
Other region golf tournaments are being moved, as well. The Region 5B golf tournament at Hillsview Golf Course in Pierre on Monday will now be played on Thursday, May 22. Lyman was among the scheduled participants in that tournament. The Region 2B golf tournament, scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, has been moved to Wednesday, May 21 at Broadland Creek Golf Course in Huron. Howard, Sanborn Central/Woonsocket and Wessington Springs compete in Region 2B.
As of Monday, the Region 3A girls golf tournament, scheduled for Tuesday at Lakeview Golf Course in Mitchell, remains on schedule. Participating teams include Chamberlain, Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Mount Vernon/Plankinton, Parkston, Redfield, Todd County and Winner.

Other event changes include:
* The Hanson track meet scheduled for Monday, May 19 has been canceled.
* Chamberlain’s home track meet on Monday, May 19 has been canceled.
* The Cornbelt Conference track meet, which was scheduled for Friday, May 16, has been moved to Thursday, May 22 and will be combined with the previously scheduled Dan Clarke Relays in Bridgewater. The meet will be varsity competitors only.
* The Monday softball triangular with Avon, Gayville-Volin and Wagner has been canceled.
* Mitchell’s C-team softball game at Chamberlain on Monday has been canceled.
* The Mitchell Middle School’s ESD girls golf meet at Yankton and Big 4 track meet at Joe Quintal Field, both scheduled for Tuesday, May 20, have been canceled.
