How many mixed emotions were there this afternoon? Yeah. Um, a lot of mixed emotions because of the feeling, the disappointment in the end that we didn’t get over the line on the last day. Um, not about today. Yeah. The line crossing the line. Well, it still could have went our way today, but you couldn’t change it. That’s what I mean. No, but it could have changed. So, there was still hope today and that hope is now gone because the season’s over. So with that is very disappointing. Um but I think if we look at the over the course of the season, the performance overall of the season, I think not many people would have expected this team to go toe-to-toe with with PSV till the last day of the season for the title or even qualify for Champions League. So, um, a lot of credit has to go to the players, to the staff for everything they’ve given because of what they’ve give for the fans, the hope um, back again from the last couple of years that hasn’t been great. Um, I think this team has been competitive again and um, unfortunately we couldn’t finish it off with a trophy, but I think in the end we’ll have to congratulate PSV who are very good side and and in the end deserve to win the the title. So yeah, very mixed emotions, but overall I’m very proud of the team uh for what they’ve done and how how they’ve worked this season. Is that the strange thing about this moment and about this season that you have the feeling now you’ve lost something but in the end it’s a great season? Yeah, I think I suppose the narrative or the perception can be that Ajax have lost something, but I’ve been in football long enough to to know what Yeah. what football’s about. And um to be honest, this team couldn’t have done any more. Honestly, they’ve give absolutely everything from the start of middle of June up until this point. It’s been long a long long season and in Europe, in the league, I don’t think we could have asked any more of the players. So that’s why I’m so proud of every every one of them. So no regrets, not the feeling we could have done this different there. I think we I think we’ll always have Yeah, we could have done this, we could have done that. That’s part and parcel of football. You know, you can go all the way back to the start of the season and look at games like Nap Brada maybe where we didn’t. So there’ll be there’ll be moments like that that you you’re lying on the beach maybe in a couple of weeks and you think but the overall feeling for me knowing like I said being in the game as long as I have is sometimes in football you know you’ve got to just give everything and it gives you a better chance of winning but it doesn’t guarantee it. So in the end PSV have to hold our hands up with a better side and and took the title. So, congratulations. But, um, I couldn’t have asked for any more of the group of players. I’m I’m I’m really proud of of what we achieved together as a team. And, um, yeah, now it’s now it’s time for a break and and try to switch off a little bit. How happy were you with your goal? It’s been a while. 2022, I guess. Is that has it been that World Cup? Not. Yeah. Is that how long it was? I guess to be honest, it was my first one here. um important one could have been but unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be. Um so yeah it doesn’t it doesn’t really mean much now to be honest it was more about just winning the game and I think even today showed a test of character to the team you know even after the last few games of performance of results we haven’t got to come out here today knowing it wasn’t in our hands I thought we performed really well to get the win and um and like I say unfortunately just didn’t go our way next year Champions League here again uh you accomplish that are you going to be there Um, I’m not sure to be honest. If I’m fully honest, I think it’s something that I don’t really want to speak about now because I’ve just been concentrating on this this season to to to basically play as as much as I can, take it to the last day and try to win. But now I think it’s time to to reflect on the season, maybe speak to the club and what they want. Um, the club will have many decisions to make, I think, with other players and things that they want to do. So, I think it’s a case of let’s see what happens. and um did you speak already about your future? But I think I think the most important thing was to concentrate on the games and especially how important it was. That’s the most important thing. And then now we’ll have a little bit of time to to see what um to see what the club wants and and see where we’ll go from here. But I thoroughly enjoyed this season working with the players, the staff um and the connection I felt with the fans has been really special. and at the end there when uh clapping and giving us a stand in ovation means an awful lot to to the to the team and and what we’ve gi. So yeah, in the end um it’s been a it’s been a very special season for us. What happened in um in the winter in that window does that play a part in your decision? Not really. Um I think a lot of things happen in football, but again I think that’s why we’d probably need to speak now or in this yeah in the next few weeks or or whatever it may be. um and and see where we’ll go. But like I said, it doesn’t take away anything that this team have done this season and uh Champions League football next season, which I’m sure a lot of fans will be happy about.
