After Venezuelan golfer Jhonattan Vegas led through two rounds at eight under par, his two-over-par third round has the 40-year-old now tied for fifth and five strokes behind the new leader, world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler, who shot an impressive six under par on Saturday to take a commanding three-stroke lead. Of course, no lead is secure in the golf world, so Sunday promises to be full of intrigue and excitement at Quail Hollow.
In second place, all by himself, is Swedish golfer Alex Norén at eight under par. The 42-year-old has 10 wins on the European Tour in his career. Meanwhile, his best finish at a major is a sixth-place finish at the 2017 Open Championship, so Norén is in uncharted territory right now.
Right behind Norén at seven under par are J. T. Poston and Davis Riley, who will look to make a move up the leaderboard in the final round.
