Millions of fans around the world admire the Kardashian clan for their good looks, business acumen and command of social media, but apparently being like a Kardashian can also be seen as an insult to some.
Former PGA Tour pro Hunter Mahan was one of the leading golfers on the tour from 2007 when he racked up six PGA Tour wins and finished in the top 10 of all four majors, but he is not a fan of one course in particular—Quail Hollow in North Carolina, which is set to host this week’s 2025 PGA Championship.

In fact, in an interview with The Athletic, Mahan compared the golf course to “a Kardashian” in possibly the most unflattering terms ever.
“I guess I would say Quail Hollow is like a Kardashian. It’s very modern, beautiful and well-kept,” he told journalist Gabby Herzig, before dropping the bomb, “but it lacks a soul or character.”

Fans had a mixed reaction to Mahan’s take on the course and the famous family in the comments of a post on X, formerly Twitter, by GOLF.com.

“Stupid take,” responded one, while another added, “Says the guy who chunked his chip in the Ryder Cup.”
“It’s a pretty track with nice homes but no intrigue. Said it perfectly,” another added.
“Wow put it on a plaque. What a quote,” added another.
Another commenter threw shade at Mahan and the course.
“Coming from a guy who married a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and then sunk into irrelevance because he chocked in front of the world. But he’s right about the course, it really doesn’t move me that much as a major venue,” they wrote.
For the record, Mahan married Kandi Harris, a onetime Dallas Cowboys cheerleader and Dallas Mavericks dancer, in 2011 and they have two children.
