Saturday Night Live star Chloe Fineman’s latest celebrity impression has gone viral after she mimicked first lady Melania Trump, but fans have claimed it sounds more like another famous person.

The SNL star appeared on The View on Monday, where she unveiled her long-awaited Melania impression. “You are also very well-known for your impressions—you’ve done some great ones of Jennifer Coolidge and Meryl Streep—but we hear there’s one you’ve been pitching to the show this entire season and have had a hard time getting on,” panelist Ana Navarro said, before prompting Fineman to perform the impression live.

“I feel like I have her hair, but I’ve been trying to do Melania this whole year,” Fineman, 36, responded, referencing the elusive First Lady. Fineman went on to explain, “I don’t know where this woman is,” adding that Melania appears to be “hiding.”

Then came the voice: “It’s sort of like, ‘Donald,’ and I do this sort of eyes and think about my book. She had a book this year about modeling and children and the books and the love.”

Fineman’s take was later shared on social media, where it quickly gained traction. While many applauded it, others questioned whether the impression truly captured Melania Trump, or sounded too close to Fineman’s well-known Jennifer Coolidge.

“Sounds more like Jennifer Coolidge, but OK,” wrote one Instagram user, while another said: “That is not a good impression of Melania. She sounds more like Jennifer Coolidge.”

A third added: “Love Chloe but that’s not Melania—unless Melania now sounds like Jennifer Coolidge.”

One X user wrote: “She must not even bother to watch historical clips because this is just her recycled Jennifer Coolidge impression,’ and another said: “That sounds nothing like Melania. That sounds like Jennifer Coolidge,” said another.

Still, some defended the comedic angle as one person posted: “Before anyone gets p*****… she’s a comedian.”

“It was a funny imitation of the first lady!” added another.

Fineman, who joined SNL in 2019, has built a reputation for celebrity impersonations—including Nicole Kidman, Meryl Streep, and Britney Spears.

Whether her Melania impression makes it to the SNL stage remains to be seen.
