Some Golfers Just Can’t Be Pleased | #golf #golfpodcast #golftrip

I hate entitled golfers like that. Was paired up with other golfers as if it was a municipal course. Overall, it fell short of expectations. Lack of communication is way below average. Should people at a golf resort expect to not be paired with someone if they are not filling out a full forsome? No. If you’re I’ll say this. If you’re a threesome, like you know, there’s it’s Pinehurst, so if you’re a threesome, there’s going to be like some golf sickos that are just like singles that are like, “Dude, can you guys get me out today?” And they’re like, “Oh yeah, we can pair you up with this.” If you’re a twosome, you should definitely expect it. If you’re a single, obviously, first of all, saying like, “What is this, a municipal course?” Like, no, that’s that’s just how golf courses in general run. And that’s that’s like the golfers that feel entitled. Uh the ones that like, you know, if they don’t see the cart girl every eight minutes on the dot, they’re like, “What? So, am I just supposed to die a thirst out here?” Like, “Hey, you’re not the president of the United States.” Okay. Like, yeah, they’re glad that you paid to come out here and play, but like I hate entitled golfers like that. So, this this screams country club golfer that has only ever known that. And then the only time that he doesn’t play by himself is at a municipal war. So great new trust fun kid. Yes, you said it, not me. If you’re in the right mindset, getting paired with someone can be a great thing. You make a new friend.

In this clip from Must Play: Level Select, we highlighted a one-star review from a golfer who was furious about being paired with strangers during their round at Pinehurst No. 2—yes, that Pinehurst No. 2.

It sparked a larger conversation about entitlement on golf trips and what you should realistically expect when you book a tee time at a high-profile golf resort. Spoiler: If you’re playing a highly sought-after public course, you’re probably not getting a solo round in.

We talk about how golf resorts like Pinehurst operate, why pairing up is standard, and how embracing the experience will probably make your round better. A big part of golf travel is understanding the culture of the place you’re visiting—and being flexible enough to enjoy it, even when it’s not exactly how you pictured it.

If you’re planning a bucket list golf trip, this is your reminder to set realistic expectations, be open to new people, and maybe, just maybe, not leave a one-star review because someone else joined your foursome.
