The PGA Championship is shaping up to be an interesting tournament with storylines like Jordan Spieth’s chance at a career Grand Slam, Justin Thomas returning to where he won his first major and Scottie Scheffler looking to maintain his spot atop the world rankings. It’s a golf fan’s dream to have such riveting plots throughout a major.
The only thing that could ruin it would be a storm delaying play. No one likes to wait, but mother nature is fickle and does not care about our worries. Thus, it’s best to look ahead to ensure that nothing will go wrong, or even if something does, we’ll at least know to expect it.

Round 1 – Thursday, May 15
The National Weather Service says Thursday will be mostly sunny with a high of 86. There will be light wind in the morning coming from the southwest between 5 and 9 mph, with gusts of up to 18 mph. No rain is expected.
Round 2 – Friday, May 16
Friday will be a little warmer with a high of 90. However, wind will be less of a factor, still coming in from the southwest, but only around 3 to 7 mph. Those winds will persist even into Friday evening, but it is calm enough to not be much of an issue. Once again, no rain is expected.
Round 3 – Saturday, May 17
Saturday is where the trouble might lie.

The NWS says there is a 30% chance of rain and thunderstorms. The most severe part of those storms is expected between 4 and 5 p.m. ET. Apart from that, Saturday will be partly sunny with a high of 88.
Round 4 – Sunday, May 18
Sunday is expected to be more of the same, except for the thunderstorms. Mostly sunny with a high of 87. Temperatures could drop as low as the mid-60s, but that wouldn’t be until the late evening.
