The No. 3 nationally ranked Ole Miss golf team saved its best day for last in Tallahassee to advance to the National Championship.

The Rebels were the lowest scoring team on day three of the Tallahassee regional hosted by Florida State who finished first overall (-29), and Ole Miss finished second as a team after a -13 third round and -20 overall finish. The top five teams in the regional qualify for the National Championship comprised of 30 teams.

Michael La Sasso led the way for the Rebels shooting -11 for the regional to finish second overall. First place finisher Luke Clanton of Florida State finished at -15, and if you don’t recognize his name, Clanton has damn near won two PGA Tour events and is in the top 125 rankings WORLDWIDE.

Despite being on the road, the Rebels brought their entire game with them to finish higher than the program ever has in a regional. The second place finish topped a third place finale in the Normal regional in 2022.

Ole Miss outlasted a field of 14 teams in the regional where eight of those squads were ranked in the top 50 nationally. The Rebels were the highest nationally ranked team in the field and cleraly expected to advance, so cheers boys.

The Rebels will now have about a week to prepare for the National Championship held from May 23-28 at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Cali.
