What’s better: lag or wide angles?
The answer: it depends 😄
Golf swing trends are fun to study. Years ago, it was all about increasing lag in transition. Now, you see a lot more players maintaining some width than you used to.
However…I think there’s a place for both.
Width might be a good option if you:
🔹 Want to hit it higher
🔹 Like a shallower delivery
🔹 Rely on rotation and body movement for speed
🔹 Can keep the pivot moving through the ball
Lag may be better if you:
🔹 Struggle to rotate on the downswing
🔹 Like to flight the ball lower
🔹 Rely on your arms help create speed
🔹 Have a solid deceleration (braking) sequence and can let the angles out efficiently
Of course there are incredible players on both ends of the spectrum – it’s all about finding what’s right for you!
