A journalist has asserted that President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania Trump are essentially “separated.” During Tuesday’s episode of The Daily Beast Podcast, Michael Wolff, alongside host Joanna Coles, dove into the tumultuous first few months of Trump’s second administration, noting Melania’s lack of attendance in the White House.

“They clearly do not in any way inhabit a marriage as we define marriage,” Wolff said, suggesting further, “I think maybe we can more specifically say they live separate lives. They are separated. The President of the United States and the First Lady are separated.”

But White House Communications Director Steven Cheung branded Michael Wolff a “lying sack of s—.”

Just last week at the White House’s Celebration of Military Mothers event, Trump appeared to be quite taken with Melania, according to a body language analyst.

“Trump is in the mode of a man who is smitten, chivalrous and even in awe here. His introduction ends with him calling her ‘honey’ as he invites her onto the stage, extending his hand to take hers before performing a reward kiss on her cheek,” Judi James, a communication expert, observed.

Following Melania’s address to the women gathered, Trump lauded his wife for her exceptional parenting of their son, Barron, a 19-year-old student at New York University. “I especially want to thank one of the best moms that I know, that I’ve ever seen. Sometimes, she’s almost too good,” Trump complimented.

Last month, the first lady accompanied the president to Pope Francis’ funeral in Rome, where they displayed a rare moment of affection, walking hand-in-hand through the Vatican.

Upon their return to the US, which coincided with Melania’s birthday, Donald gave his wife a brief kiss goodbye before they went their separate ways once more.

Mary Jordan, a Washington Post journalist and author of The Art of Her Deal: The Untold Story of Melania Trump, contends that the couple’s marriage has strengthened over time.

“Melania and Donald are now spending more time together and appearing as more of a couple than they have in the past. They’ve been in a bunker together and they’ve come out of it closer,” Jordan told the Times.

She also asserted that Melania has been in New York, devoting time to and keeping an eye on Barron, which likely explains her occasional absence from her husband’s side.
