and you’re watching Paul Morning channel. It’s Grandpa Casey Bloom’s annual youth turkey weekend again in Wisconsin. Lots of memories from the past few seasons as grandkids travel from Alaska to hunt with their Wisconsin cousins and grandfather Casey Bloom and their fathers and uncles. Up first in 2025, it’s Finny Wixom. All right, let’s see. I think we got him on at least two sides, maybe three different ones. We just got to wait them out now. Opening morning. How exciting. All right, there comes Mr. Gobbler. You see the gobbler? You see the gobbler? Get ready, Finny. It’s okay. This turkey ends up fading off with the hens and never does get close enough. We’re getting set up here. We’ve been in about 30 minutes. We made a move from our first set up. We had somebody shooting behind us. So, we just got a turkey to gobble just to our south and he’s in the zone. An awesome gobbler shows up from behind. They try to make a maneuver in the blind and don’t have much luck, so decide to just wait him out. I see him. Eventually, he works his way around, sees the decoy, and runs in. Got the X on his head. Okay, put your finger right here. Let him stick his head out. He might not. Got the X on his head. Hang on. Hang on. Don’t let him turn. Just waiting on the perfect shot. Get it on and squeeze. Laughter. Squeeze. Take your time when it’s right. Let him turn. Nice boy. Nice shot, Finny. Nice shot, Finny. I smoked him. I guess you did. Holy smokes. I smoked him. Oh, good job, dude. I just smoked him. Dude, you were so patient. Yeah, I just smoked him. You were so patient. You’re not even flopping. No. Oh my gosh, Finny. High five, dude. Dude, you smoked him. Yeah. Go get him. Go get him. Oh, he was so patient. Can you pick him up, Finny? That’s a big one. Look at where I just shot him. Did you get him, bud? Yeah. Let’s see. Look at those beautiful Look at that beard. Come and see how big the beard is. We’re coming, bud. It’s a big beard. Oh man, there you go, Dad. Awesome. You got it. He was patient. You were patient. As soon as he turned, he just that turkey when he when he got his eyes on that laid down hen, he just had to run right over. That was pretty exciting. What a way. First day of youth season in 2025. Then he’ll be six here pretty soon. That’s his second turkey. He’s spoiled. That’s terrible. But Uncle Jesse Bloom laid it on the rim again. And uh Finny comes through. These these little 410s with the red dot. They’re just amazing. Let’s get out there, Dad. I can’t wait anymore. Here, Vinnie. Stand next to him here. Hang on. Here. I’ll hold him up for you here. Look at Grandpa by the head. That’s a big one, Finn. Look how pretty his feathers are. Nice shot. Yeah, you guys are really patient. Really patient. Nice bird. Beautiful. That’s the biggest. That’s the biggest. That’s a pretty big one. Yeah. Look at that. Let’s look. Well, he sure was pretty in the sunshine, wasn’t he, Finny? He was pretty. He’s the biggest. He’s like how big is he? Yeah, he’s pretty big. I Holy crap, Vinnie. You put you You want to tell talk to grandpa now about it? How it went? What h So, how did the turkey come in? He shot over there and I shot him. Well, where did he what did he do? Was he was he pull puffed up or was he strutting or He was puffed up and struting. Strutting. Yeah. And did he like our decoys? Yeah. And what we what’ you say to dad? You go, “We can’t shoot the decoy.” Cuz the turkey was right by the decoy and I I’m like looking at the decoy now. And I think we might have put a couple BB’s in it. Uh-oh. Got a little friendly fire. That’s all right. Yeah. Well, Finny, who do you got to thank for this big turkey hunt? Jesse. Uncle Jesse and Michelle. Absolutely. And Miss Miss Maddie.
