Hey guys, I’m Patrick Reed and this is the scorecard confessional. All right, let’s go through this lovely 70 today. Feel like these last two days I’ve been playing the US Open. So, today we start on seven, the par five, expecting to get off to a fast start. Um, unfortunately that didn’t happen. It uh was a lot colder today than yesterday and hit a perfect drive to set up what I thought would have been a pretty easy birdie. And then Ces goes and gives me a 234 yards to cover the bunker yardage. And I mean with it being windchill high 40s to low 50s, it’s probably closer to 250 adjusted and flushed uh flush the 3-wood right at the bunker and doesn’t cover. Of course not. Why would it to start the day? And um next thing you know, my ball’s just outside the bunker. My feet are in the bunker. And uh yeah, I mean decided to play baseball. So have lob wedge from I only only needed to fly it when I fly only need to fly it 20 yards and flew it 23 yards and 15 ft away and a nice two putt there. burn the low low lip to start the day and walk off a five after watching uh Matty Wolf who I played with hit probably the worst drive I’ve seen uh him ever hit this thing maybe went 100 yards and about 100 yards left and TP and I stripe it down middle fairway and perfect spot to go for it in two uh he walks off with four and TP and I walk off with five. It’s funny how golf works. Then we get to eight the par three. Very accessible pin today. Um, I was onlyund playing 144 yards and I was in the wind off left and yesterday I hit nine iron to a pin that was farther back in the green and ended up short in the bunker, but it was kind of even with the pin today. So, I kind of knew what to do and hit nine iron pin high 10 ft and uh decided to miss that on the high side. And so, I was like, “All right, perfect. start off uh hitting quality shot or quality shot and making pars. After my nice uh really fast start on 78 with two pars, I get on nine is a 451 yard par4 downwind. Um but with how cold it was a 287 bunker, didn’t know if it was quite coverable. So hit driver just left of it and ended up perfectly in the fairway and had a 153 yards to the hole and hit a uh after previous hole having 144 uh into the wind hit nine. I was like this probably just stock nine again and hit a perfect nine iron there to about maybe two feet maybe foot and a half. So uh don’t think I can miss that putt after missing the first two. So was able to kind of get a birdie and kind of think getting the round started and you know so um you at least got one of the first three and got to 10 which uh today was a different win. Today was end off the right. It’s a 447 yard par4 but with a bunker on the left that kind of squeezes in and I don’t know why. I mean, the fairway is 90 yards wide from the bunker to the hazard on the right, but the design it is, it just for some reason freaks me out. And I was able to kind of hit a solid T- shot there and and get myself in the fairway and we’re in between a a seven and an eight iron. And K’s like, well, I mean, if you hit if you hit seven, he goes past this flag is perfect. He’s like, you know, short here, it’ll feed all the way off the green and who knows what you’re going to do down there. And so we uh we settled on hitting a 75% 7 iron and ended up being 35 ft past the flag right over the top of it. How? I don’t know. That went farther than uh normal conditions. So, you know, I was able to kind of hit a good good putt there. Left it a foot and a half from the hole. Kind of tap in, kind of move on to 11, which um yeah, if I don’t par 11 tomorrow, I don’t know. I might throw the whole bag in the water. and two days in a row strikeed right down the middle of fairway on a 435 yard par4 and water all down the right and as a draw to the golf ball. It’s not my favorite T-OT and I’ve done the hard part. Hit the middle of fairway both days and today I had a nine iron in my hand and decide to chunk pull toe hook it left into the bunker. The one spot you can’t go. Um it’s kind of one of those that uh I told Kess the one spot you can’t go is that front left bunker. I was like even if you hit over the green and left you’re fine. just that’s the one spot you can’t go and of course we go there why not you know the only excitement for the day and um luckily I actually got in the bunker landed left of it kicked into it on the down slope completely screwed uh nice little 61 out uh out of the bunker probably best I could to 28 ft barely landed on the green and you know luckily stayed on top on the shelf and u you think I made the putt no chance missed the putt to the right. Uh ball rolled end over end though. Good speed. So, two putt bogey, two catless bogeies on that hole this week from middle fairway. Um those are about enough to make me either want to strangle myself or strangle my cat in one or the other cuz uh at the end of the day he he’s helping me make these decisions and uh we made two horrendous ones on that hole already. Good thing is I like to play it one more time. Then we get to 12 466 yard par4. um downwind today. Uh hair off left and hit a beautiful drive there right down the middle of the fairway which kind of been the story of the week. Just been driving it well, hitting irons pretty solid, just not making anything. And step up there at a front right pin, not the best yardage. He was right in between a stock full pitching wedge or a soft nine iron. And I just thought with the wind direction if I hit a full pitching was just going to be left of left. And so I hit soft nine iron on the green to pin high left and had 23 ft for birdie left to right and looks like it’s going right in the heart and at the last second it just decides to stay high. Burns the top lip goes 3 ft by and make three-footer as I watch my teammate Thomas Peters hit a horrendous wedge shot to the right and chip in for birdie. So, at this point, I’m really happy. These guys are chipping in, hitting horrendous drives and and birdieing every hole, and I’m over there hitting it down fairway, knocking on the green, par. Hit downhill fairway, knock on the green, par. So, uh yeah, at this point, we’re getting pretty hot. Um Matty Wolf looks at me, he goes, “I’m surprised you have your sweater on for so long.” And yeah, the sweater came off pretty quickly after that. I mean, we get to 13, par three. that uh was a head scratcher yesterday. Uh today it was 207 to the flag. Pins back left, went off off the right and down. Um and I hit a perfect 85% 5 iron right in the middle of the green drawing. Uh there’s a slope that should catch and take it and it got just above the slope. So I ended up staying uh staying on top rather than feeding towards the hole at 28 ft. um double breaking putt and it uh hit the putt. Looks like it’s going to go in and sits directly behind the hole somehow in between me and the hole and about 2 in past it. How did it get there? I don’t know. I think at this point my ball defies gravity and uh was able to just tap in for another frustrating par going into a uh really short 340 yard uh par4 that is very getable downwind. Um, it’s 304 to the front and with water short and right, I just I didn’t have the length to go there. I mean, Matty Wolf decided to hit it to two feet with the driver, but Thomas Peters and I decided to play smart play lay up and uh so I hit a forearm down the left side of the fairway, which had me a little worried cuz uh you just never know getting closer to the water, but it give me a better angle and had 112 yards downwind and sand wedge goes 120 in the air, but because it’s cold, I was like, “All right, just hit 85 center and hit it 22 ft short.” It was a stellar wedge shot, let me tell you. And I’m reading this putt right to left. Caster reading the putt and he’s like, “Oh, I think it’s I saw two cups out on the right.” He saw basically a foot, so it’ be close to the same. And uh yeah, my ball goes straight. Uh burn, you know, miss on the high side was about 2 ft from the hole. Another frustrating par. So, I get to the par 515, 577 yards into the wind off left and uh this was one of the two fairways I missed. Um hit honestly a solid drive. Try to get down that right side cuz there’s a little fast spot down there and ends up a foot in the first cut. And uh because I’m not a long hitter compared to the two guys I played with, I had to lay up and laid up to what I thought was a perfect spot. 92 yards to the flag into the wind, but back left flag and uh hit a wedge shot that landed two paces past the flag. Hopped up into the rough had so much spin on it. Comes back on the green 15 ft to the hole and uh at this point I might as well put with my eyes closed cuz from that I’m reading and Kess is reading it and we’re okay. This is a maybe a ball out on the right and um that breaks about a foot. Good job. I mean, you think with four eyes you’d be able to figure it out, but nope, not today. Uh, good thing it was great speed tap in another par. Um, sitting there feeling really good about my golf game at the moment. Um, then we get to 16 16 480 yard par4 right to left touch in. Um, another drive uh right down the middle fairway. had a um yardage that was in between. We had 167 flag with a little little warmer than it was when we started, but it’s still I mean still probably playing some percentage cuz of cold and with a right pin there. I knew we couldn’t go long cuz there’s a little swale back there. So, I hit a 85% 8 iron. Ended up just barely short of the green. I mean, two feet off the green on the left side and 35 feet for birdie and hit this. I’m like, “All right, it’s tracking.” I was like, “Ah, we finally might make our first put of the day.” And it stops less than a foot short right in the heart. You know, really just kind of sat there. I want to give me the middle finger. Basically, you’re like, “All right, I finally get online and stay short.” And so, um, it’s funny how often that happens. Um, I’ve asked every coach, they don’t know the answer. So maybe someone could tell me the answer why every putt that short out here seems to be dead in the heart. But the ones I get there don’t go in. Then we go to 17 the par three. 203 yards. Pin was a little bit in the back so I was playing about 206 uh rights left. If anything a touch of help. Um Thomas Peters he he he went first and hit a seven iron right at it and it kind of fed down the slope. And because he’s longer than me, I looked at cast and I was like, I think it’s just a like 90% sixiron. And um yeah, I had a beautiful one there. Started at the middle green, drifted right to the flag. I mean, looked like it was going to go in, kind of went right over the edge. I had 4T birdie there. And uh we finally cashed that one. We I mean, I would hope so from 4T. And so uh made another birdie. At this point, we’ve made two birdies and it’s been 1 and 1/2 ft and 4T. So, yeah, better hit it closer if we’re going to make birdies, obviously. And so, uh, then I get the honor on 18 and par five, 545 yards. Wind was pumping off the left, a hair down, and, uh, yesterday I hit 3-wood there. I don’t know why, and hit it left in the rough. Had no chance. So, with the pin beam back left, I was like, “Well, let’s squeeze the driver, hit the little fade, hit the driver, great.” Um, I stepped up, hit a perfect one right down the middle fairway, and ended up being on this nasty downhill ball below feet slope that we had 224 to cover the bunker on the right, which is 222 to cover the water. And with a pin back, they have all the grand stands in the back. I’m sitting there going, “Well, I mean, four iron depending on this lot, I don’t know if it’s going to come out.” And so I convinced Castler to allow me to hit hybrid. And uh thank God for the backboards cuz this thing was uh up on the roof. So I got to take relief from uh from the grand stands. If those stands weren’t back there, the ball still be going. Might be in Texas by now. But uh was able to take a drop there and hit a perfect chip uh to 4 1/2 ft just short of the hole. And uh you know, a little left to rider. Started the ball. Uh basically was almost the same exact putt as 17. I mean, the only difference is 17 was downhill. This one was uphill and made that putt. So, uh, we’re on a hot streak. Made two in a row. Um, long putts though, let me tell you. I mean, making it from from downtown and we made the turn after making those two birdies. Like, all right, getting some momentum and getting on one, which I hit a great drive there yesterday. And today was in off the right, a little bit more off right than in compared to yesterday. And I decided to hit the weakest, thinnest Healey driver that just had no speed on it. Went but luckily it went straight. It was in the fairway and had 14 no 154 hole and um because it was on the pin was front but on the right side there’s a you know back slope behind it. I felt like I could use the used to bring it back cuz trying to hit a full nine iron there. It just would have gone so hard left with the wind and hit a soft eight and ended up sitting just on top of the ridge at 35 ft downhill and uh yeah, that one um I don’t know what C and I were thinking when we were reading that putt. We were sitting there and we just watched a chip from Thomas Peters go a hair left and then start to go right. Yet we’re sitting there going, “Oh no, this putt’s only going to go right.” And I end up missing it three feet to the left. And right when it comes off, he’s yelling, “Bite.” And I’m like, why are you telling it to bite? It’s perfect speed. We’re just 3 ft off on our read. And so we make that putt. And this point I’m wanting to throw the putter in the in any pond I can find. But at this point, there is no water around me. So get to two. And it’s a 426 yard par4. And the pin they put in a little dicey spot right back middle of the green that if just short of it, there’s a little down slope. If it lands near the flag, it’ll actually skip, go over the green. And um yeah, I had a perfect drive again. It had 97 yards downwind and tried to land it about 7 yards short of the flag and it just because of how much downwind it was, it knocked the ball out of the sky. Ended up being 36 36 37 ft right along a flag on the green and hit this putt and there’s no way this thing can miss. dead center and it somehow horeshoots and Thomas Peters just looks at me and starts laughing and I’m like, “Okay, yep.” And uh two seconds after that, before that, while we’re walking up on the green, uh Matty Wolf goes, “Man,” he’s like, “Aren’t you freezing?” I mean, it’s so cold out here. And I was in short sleeve by that and right after that putt the horseshoe, I just looked at Matty goes, “That’s the reason why I’m hot. It’s not cold out here. I’m hot.” And so, uh yeah, I’ve gotten nothing out of the round so far. Uh only putts I’ve made are from one and a half, four and four and a half ft. We’re doing great, but hitting a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. Just one of those days. I’m playing a US Open. Get a three the par five and uh it is 593 wins down off left. Hit another great drive down the middle fairway. Have 296 to the hole, 274 front. And um Kaz is like, “All right, just let’s let’s hit it between the two bunkers directionally wise.” He’s like, you know, probably be just a hair short uh cuz you know, cuz the conditions and I absolutely flushed this 3wood at the left bunker and wind’s pumping off the left. I’m expecting it to kind of drift to the right. No, doesn’t decide to drift. flies the bunker, ends up just barely in the rough, even with the green, and uh have a basic pitch and decide to allow the lobby for it to ride the face and be one of the worst pitches I’ve hit in a long time. Ended up uh barely getting it halfway there and had 21 ft for birdie. And another moral of the story, hit another putt that decides to go right over the low lip, tap in par. And uh still have yet to uh really feel like I’m doing really a lot wrong, but not doing I mean not making a lot of putts. So I mean it makes you feel like you’re doing nothing right. And then I come to four and nothing did go right. Step up on a T. That’s uh 386 yards pumping into the wind a hair off left and uh hit driver kind of tow it. It’s down the fairway rolling forever. I’m like all right, you know, might stay out of the water. Next thing you know, you see the ball just kind of keep drifting and ends up going right in the pond and drop uh went so far up there I was able to drop at 106 yards of the flag and hit my sandwich was 120 club like I said earlier and it proceeds to land spin back and come off the green and almost into the bunker. How? I have no idea. Kesler is still looking at his book. I mean we’re on five. He was still looking at four. I’m like all right we got to move on at that point. Uh was able to hit a chip up there to two and a half, three feet. Tap in par. Uh get to five, par three, my 17th hole. I like all right, maybe we can birdie the last two. Kind of salvage this round somehow as I’m just watching the leaderboard, my name just go backwards rather than forwards. We had 154 yards flag and it was down off left pins just up on a shelf. Um Tom Spears went my first hit pitching wedge and it just it wasn’t going to b bounce off the slope and I didn’t think I could fly it on top and stop it because I mean with the green still have a little bit of firmness in it. So I had a soft nine iron takes one skip looks like it stopped on top and as we’re walking the ball just starts trickling back down. It’s always great when you hear fans go, “Oh,” you’re just like, “Oh, great.” You know, and of course it was my ball, not not the other guys actually stayed on top of the ridge. And so, um, as I’m walking up, uh, Adam Thomas Peters, he goes, “Calling P Re.” He’s like, you know, he’s like, “Let’s, you know, go ahead and roll this one in.” I mean, 22 feet, no chance. Nope. Cass and I are reading it. Uh, he just kind of glanced at it. I was reading it and he’s like, “It’s left to right.” He’s like, “Yeah, about a He’s like about a foot.” He’s like, “This thing should swing.” Yeah, I was dead straight. Uh missed it a foot to the left. Uh tapped in and sitting there going, “All right, one hole left. Let’s get this round done with and let’s go figure out what the heck’s going on with this putting cuz uh I mean through this point I’ve missed two fairways, three greens, only chipped twice. I mean, it’s actually pretty clean round of golf. just the putter’s not working. Um, get on six, 487 yd par four downwind off right like all right well I mean hit a good drive you might be able to catch that speed slot of that hill kind of get down there might have nine iron 8 iron or pitching wedge in flush the drive right down the fairway um no club twirls or anything going on at this point because I mean at this point I’m like all right well I mean it doesn’t matter I mean maybe a fist bump if I can make a putt and um hadund6 61 yds flag, but a slope on the left that could actually bring the ball down. And so, uh, because it was downwind, I hit a another soft nine iron. Seemed like I hit nine iron all day. And, uh, hit it 9 ft pin high. And C comes in to read the putt. I was like, “No, I got it. Like, leave me alone. I want to get this done with. Let’s just, you know, at this rate, why read them? I mean, I’ve read every other putt and they haven’t gone in.” Uh, just kind of gave it a quick look. Hit it. Goes right in the heart. Go figure. and uh make birdie on the last to have the longest putt made of the day 9 ft and you know just a very frustrating 70 to feel like that should have been a 65 64 but um yeah that’s golf and like I said I mean everyone else out here they’re playing a regular golf tournament I’m playing the US

He’s too negative
Is this right after the round?
I love the unfiltered recap! More of this!
Awesome vid. More!
keep it coming baby
This is great insight, man LIV stays coming in with great content
Hello world, meet Patrick's relentless humorous sarcasm🤣
LOVED this video! This type of scorecard review would be great with any player but Reed is perfect.
This video is literally one of the most incredible things I've ever watched. Here is a freaking MASTERS CHAMPION going thru his round sounding like me and the other single digit handicaps sitting at the bar after a local State or USGA Mid-Amateur qualifier. This is amazing. Please do more of these! and "One of Us!" lol — cheers P Reed!
I thought this was a great perspective… Patrick I like the content, keep it up
great video. thank you LIV. i feel we are all part of the LIV family.
This is so awesome. LIV bringing what the people want
WOW!!!! The person that came up with this content idea is brilliant. Its the content I didnt even know I wanted/needed!!!! 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
GREAT JOB!!!
We need more!!!
