  1. that's reassuring, i am currently a 20 handicap and taking lessons, i'm hoping to get it to single digits by the end of this summer

  2. New to the game. 8 months in. 20.2 hdcp. My short game usually saves my score. Seems like I'm caught in a never ending back and forth of practicing my driver and then I lose the feel of my irons. It becomes very rare when driver and irons cooperate together in a round. Usually suffer from 5 to 7 penalty shots per 18 off the tee box. Also a emotional player. If it's going good it's going great. But a few bad shots I get in my head and start to lose confidence and over think my swing and forget to be athletic.

  3. Went from 16.8 to a 7.3 in one lesson and 8 rounds. Don't buy a new driver/putter, buy lessons!! It will improve your scores far quicker

  4. This is a great video. I play off a 3.2 and say that you are doing everything right. Focus on you're short game. There is nothing preventing anyone from having a world class short game. The crazy thing is, when you're short game is dialed, it takes pressure off your tee shots because you don't feel like you need to push and be aggressive off the tee. You have a great attitude and having fun is key. It's hard not to get frustrated. I used to get get nervous in competitions and would get frustrated. Lately I started realizing that I don't care how good other people so why would they care how good I am. I just played a qualifier with 50 entrants all solid players. I went in expecting to be cut with the only goal to have fun. I had zero pressure and zero nerves and had a blast. Finished 4th just 2 strokes off the lead. Keep smiling and having fun and you'll do great! You already are.

  5. I often tell a friend of mine that he isnt better than the shot he's frustrated about. Hes usually upset about a shot that is honestly not bad. Expectation and intentional practice go a long way in this game.

  6. Would be great to get with the golf sidekick. With your current game, let him caddie for you. See what you shoot

  7. For $50 per month, I get a large bucket of 100 balls every day. That's 3000 per month if I want. Spending 1000 for 4000 range balls is crazy. I bet you could've done a one-month membership somewhere for less.

  8. I need to go get a short game lesson my short game looks very similar to how’s yours was in the start and I’m a 16 handicap I just feel like it ruins most of my rounds can never get up and down 3 putting constantly distance control is always terrible

  9. 12.2 my ass, come on everyone knows that's not a fair read of your handicap, you won't get an accurate handicap untill you put 20 rounds in and it'll give you the average of your best 8.

Just now it's taking your best round and then cutting it by I'm sure 5 shots so you can't go cheat at a competition

Good video though enjoyed it would love to take a month off work and give this a go

  10. Short game lessons are free and valuable for all mid to high handicappers. Full swing lessons require a bit more personalized coaching imo but short game just requires the discipline to actually take drills found for free on YouTube and doing them.

  11. Once I learned how to play golf. I improved. Not just hitting a Ball. But how to score. Confidence is crazy valuable.

  12. Ok, that's some serious dedication.
What I would like to see now is if a fitting can further reduce your handicap. There is so much talk about getting fitted that I as a player of 8month can't tell if it's a lie nor when a good timing is.

  13. That's not an accurate result, it's only taking into account 1 score….

  14. It’s called WHS, World Handicap System, for a reason, and you have used 2 handicaps, so you havnt got down to 12.2… totally misleading! Your last 5 rounds on 18h were 93, 90, 91, 91, 94… average of about 20 over par so hardly a 12hcp… wait till you get the 20 scores in! good on you for putting the time in and for being real with your scoring and keep at it, but keep it real on the how hard golf is!
