TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The University of Notre Dame men’s golf team is in the thick of the 2025 NCAA Regional Tournament and sits steady in second place through the first 18 holes Monday at host Florida State University.

Sophomore Jacob Modleski’s score of 67(-5) through the first round of the tournament leads the way for the Irish as the team boasts an overall score of 281(-7). In addition to the team’s second place hold on the first day, Modleski ranks second individually, one stroke behind nationally ranked No. 5 Luke Clanton of FSU with a 66(-6).

Christopher Bagnall and Mike Qiu are tied at 17th-overall through the first round as the two share scores of 71(-1) while Rocco Salvitti rounds out the Irish scorers with an even-par total of 72(E) after day one. Nate Stevens also competed in the first round, finishing the day with a score of 74(+2).
