CHARLOTTE — It just seems too obvious, doesn’t it?

But why wouldn’t Rory McIlroy win the PGA Championship this week at Quail Hollow Country Club?

After all:

He’s won four PGA Tour events on the golf course, including his maiden victory, in 2010.

He’s won the PGA Championship twice.

He’s won three times already in 2025.

Oh, yes, and one of those three victories this year included the Masters last month, which also made him the sixth player in the history of the sport to complete the career Grand Slam.

The 36-year-old McIlroy is ranked No. 2 in the world, but he’s on top of the world following his historic win at the Masters, a victory that left no more questions about his already brilliant career.
