All three players teed off the 18th hole in the playoff, but Fox was able to sink his ball in just 3 shots at the Par 4 hole.
The 38-year-old, who is from New Zealand, turned pro in 2011 and has represented New Zealand in the 2016 and 2020 Olympics. This is his first win on the PGA Tour.
Fox’s win comes after the final round of the tournament was delayed a few hours on Sunday morning due to storms and heavy rain.
Golfers teed off at 10:45 a.m. and 12:35 p.m. off the first and 10th tees in order to speed up the final day of play at the Dunes Golf and Beach Club.
The purse for the ONEflight Myrtle Beach Classic is $4 million, and the winner receives 300 FedEx Cup points. The winner also receives a two-year exemption on the PGA Tour along with an invitation to the following week’s PGA Championship if they weren’t previously eligible.
