It’s time for the sixth Signature Event on the PGA TOUR schedule, and the TOUR ’s best heads to The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. This week also marks the return of Rory McIlroy, who is set to play his first individual event since his Masters triumph. Although it’s a different course, McIlroy is still the defending champion of the tournament. The Philadelphia Cricket Club is an architectural gem from A.W. Tillinghast and will be a one-year fill-in for Quail Hollow Club, which will host the PGA Championship next week. Joining McIlroy is Justin Thomas, who will tee it up once again after his win at the RBC Heritage, as will other top players such as Ludvig Åberg, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama.

He’s missed left twice. That one is not left. Ball went by very quickly. Yeah. 184 mph ball speed and 50° weather. That’s remarkably good. Even closer than Thomas. Yeah. Just right at 80 yards. Uh go. Oh, stay. Gosh, she’s done such a good job with that golf swing with the wedges. Flattened it out. Shortened it in complete control on that one. Give it some pace. I think JT pushed his be a good bounce back indeed. He’s talked about his resilience in his career. That was pretty resilient after the from this te that front bunker. The lip of that front bunker obscures the green. So, well, they can see the flag and some of the green. You can’t actually see the bottom down there. And that is substandard for Rory. [Applause] These are the same people. Their uncles and fathers threw snowballs at Santa Claus 40 years ago. They are cheering for Mroy as he pours one in. [Applause] The the biggest one here. They’re all big. Yes. [Music] [Applause] Uh this whole a beautiful t-shirt Nelly all the way down to the tilly’s great hazard. This is a big high sweeping hook. It’s not even a draw. Didn’t carry enough, but the yardage and the shot was very similar to a shot we’ve already seen this year. A little bit. He has to fly this well. He didn’t fly it far enough. That flag is up on a little ridge and I thought he might try to fly it most of the way there, but overall over the first two days I have putted nicely, which is which has been good to see. And you get this one here on 15. Yeah, there’s another good one. Nice to make birdie there. Well, I don’t think that right bunker’s in play for him. Let this one out to the right. Just get it back in the fairway somewhere. Go. It’s not going to go more than 40 yards and stay in the rough. Ah, okay. Got to keep the ball in the fairways here. There’s a lot of all rough. The problem with it with a shot like that when you’re in deep rough and the ball’s that far above your feet where it’s in between your knees and your waist is you uh not a very good line. This rough is now very wet. [Applause] Stay there. Stay there. Oh, that is teetering on the edge of that top tier. Great effort from Mroy, but [Applause] asking for a kick to the left. All right, a cut to this right hand hold location. A little bit more difficult. [Music] So, he’s just going to take it dead straight at it. Oh, yes, he is. It takes a lot of guts to aim that ball right at that flag stick. the entire field. Different conditions today though. How about Rory Mroy? This started on the back nine making the turn at 18 with a lengthy one. Got to take it up the left hand side though. Everything kicks really hard to the right in this fairway. [Music] And our tracing technologies provided by Trackman. And that is smoked. Yeah, he turned it over from right to left to counterbalance that slope on the fairway that goes from left to right. That was all right. Moved not to one after making the turn. Yeah, this was I was trying to hit like a little low draw in there to try to spin it against the slope. Um that uh that whole location’s really tricky for it not to just go down to the right there. So it’s nice to had another chance at the first to get it to seven under would end up bogy in the second. But back to four Rory now his second only 115 yds fighting this low looks pretty good too. Not too much spin now. Yeah, good control of spin. You know he changed to this new ball earlier this year. Oregon unleash driver here at six. He found the right side of the fairway yesterday. This is starting up the right side. May need a little bit of a [Applause] bounce and got it. Smiley. So that’s just fine on the right side of the fairway. Putter good for him so far. Now Mroy, it’s the type of shot he struggled with last year. This year he’s been really good at fighting it down. He’s done it here. Just needs to go. took a ton of spin off that in the past. He may have thrown that frustrating heading to the seventh T. This one needs to go down. And it did. Not that easy of a putt to make. Had pretty good amount of break from left to right. Good putt. [Applause] I have a hope. Come on. Come on. That will suffice. Great hands. Great hands indeed. This rain is really starting to come down now. He says, “No thanks the putter. Get me out of here.” Heavier air, rain, bit of wind. Um, you know, I I throttled back on a few holes and then I hit driver on a couple and, you know, it is it’s a Yeah, I mean I think, you know, I’ve there’s a lot of debate about it, but you know, if the golf ball just went a little shorter, this course would be it would be awesome. Not that it isn’t awesome anyway, but it’s just, you know, right now for the distances we hit it, it’s, you know, probably five or six hundred yards too short. Um, but yeah, you know, it would be amazing to to be able to play courses like this the way the architect wanted you to play them. Um, so yeah, like it does it gives you a better appreciation when you play them in these conditions. For sure. You’ve been back on tour now a couple weeks since winning at Augusta. I’m wondering what’s been the most surprising thing about being a Mast’s champ? Um, I was just saying this. I think the fact that everyone forgot I won the players like players a pretty big deal. So, um, but yeah, no, you know, I look I obviously that’s at the forefront of everyone’s mind because of what it meant and how I did it and all that stuff. But um I think for me it’s you know like I you know it’s great that I was able to do it and but I’m not that I’m leaving it in the rearview mirror but it’s you know I’ve got a lot of golf still left to play this year and um you know I thanks for watching the PJ tour on YouTube. 4:50 bro..
Free Wes!
The little smirk at "Grand Slam" from the crowd was cool.
How they just cut him off at the end.
로리 할수있다
I love when his putter is hot. Never gets old watching him stroke it.
I'm heading to Philadelphia tonight for Saturday at the Truist this will be my 13th PGA event attending across the United States
The Irish git – go away already. Mr Norman is 100 % orrect
Funny how even the best players talk to the ball as if it will matter. 😊
This is too local, it feels weird
@1:06 I'm sorry, I need context to, "These are the people whose uncles and fathers threw snowballs at Santa Clause forty years ago".
1:46 nah that's textbook draw. Hook starts around the middle and goes left(or right for lefty). Draw starts right and returns to the middle.
Absolutely loving the narrative round Rory right now. Masters was amazing – I can tell u that as someone who was there on the Sunday – but I was glad to hear him say there is a little of golf left to play this season. That’s an understatement. We can all remember with joy his Grand Slam but let’s move on to the next major. I can’t wait to see how he deals with Quail Hollow next week.
I've watched him on a few podcasts and he seems like a good guy, glad he got the slam, overdue imo.
great edit
Throwing shade on the “ old fashioned” golf course there Rory? A tad unbecoming.
GO Rory
I can’t imagine how freely he’s playing now. I know he still wants to win more majors but getting that giant monkey off his back might open the floodgates for so much more!
Always cheer you.
I'm so impressed by the Improvement of Rory's putting. Well done man!
I love watching him, his a great player. Never get old watching him. I’m glad I've achieved financial freedom and retired early, earning a good income without relying on the government, stock trading has been a huge success for me after facing so many hardships.
He was 5 behind after the first round and is still 5 behind. So how is he now in contention
Why did they cut off Rory’s interview. Either show all of it or nothing. Horrible editing PGA Tour.
Nice to see some thick rough on the PGA tour and bunkers that look like you might not be able to hit a 2 iron out off. This tournament won’t be won with 32 under par.
He’ll win so many more tournaments cause he has all that weight off his shoulders, playing for fun now
Cmon our Rory ☘️
They should just roll the ball back for the pros. Don't make the amateurs suffer, particularly after so many courses have been lengthened! 😡
blacked out rory is lethal
“battles into contention” has he though? He’s still in the exact same position as he was in round one. Five shots behind the leader.
Typical Americans shouting in the hole when he is still 200 yards away.
See you at TPC Toronto, Rory – June 8th 🇨🇦 ⛳️ 🇮🇪
The Course would be long enough for me on any sunny day.
What announcers gonna get Roy’s jockstrap this week?
I can't stand the raspy voiced announcer. geesh.
TV was messed up last weekend so its fun to see this now.
