Kai Trump once left her parents’ bedroom door and chair “destroyed” after battering them in a fit of rage in their family home.
The aspiring golfer has grown in popularity over the past 12 months as her grandfather, United States President Donald Trump, regained his place in office, leading to the launch of her own YouTube channel in which she provides a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s like to be a Trump. Keeping things lighthearted, the 17-year-old has quickly endeared herself to her growing fanbase.
But while Kai presents herself in the perfect manner in the public eye and across her social media channels, things haven’t always been as rosy behind closed doors. Her father, Donald Trump Jr., exposed his daughter’s behavior in a recent episode uploaded onto her YouTube channel, which has more than 1 million subscribers.

Titled ‘Spending a day with my dad (Donald Trump Jr.),’ the episode focuses on the 47-year-old enjoying a round of golf with his daughter, although Kai is keen to provide an insight into their personal and family life. This leads her to ask her dad whether he has any funny stories of her that he’d like to share with the rest of the world – a decision she may now regret.
“You moved into our room and it became a little bit much. So one day your mom and I were like ‘Enough, we’re putting her back in her own room.’ And let’s just say you didn’t take that well. There was screaming, like hours of it,” Trump Jr. began as he recalled one of his earliest memories of the teenager, much to her amusement.
“It’s like two in the morning now and I think I got you to bed. I’m like, ‘Ok, it’s quiet.’ And we had like these cameras on the computer so we could see in the hallway and everything like that. I look up and I see a flash of lightning and it’s you in like this little onesie. You literally have a chair over your shoulder and just start smashing it into the door to try to get in. So you destroyed our door and the chair. That was one of the more aggressive Kai maneuvers ever.”
Kai, looking slightly red faced by the end of the story, tries to hide her smile as her dad recalled the hilarious moment of her as a young child. But with the YouTube video already having more than 2 millions views, it’s safe to say it’s made a lasting impression, with some fans posting their reactions to the hilarious moment in the comments section.

“Wanting to sleep in mom and dad’s bed as a kid – pretty normal. Busting down the door like a bounty hunter – not so much,” one of the top comments read. “I can SO picture toddler Kai smashing that door. She is a real go-getter,” read another. A third user joked: “Definitely looks like you got your determination from your Granpa!”
Others were complimentary of the bond between Kai and her dad, who was congratulated for raising his daughter to be a “great example” of today’s youth and that he should be “proud” of how “normal and polite” she is, despite her privileged upbringing.
Kai’s fans, however, caused a bit of a controversy at a recent golfing event that left Secret Service agents with a “great headache.” Turning up to the Sage Valley course at the Junior Invitational event on Sunday, the teenager had a mass gathering of young fans eager for her autograph.
Secret Service agents were left trailing the crowd of supporters across the course to ensure Kai’s safety, according to the Daily Mail, where they were seen among a ‘horde’ of Trump fans. Many of them were sporting the President’s replica red ‘MAGA’ caps, while at one point a group of young lads, reportedly ‘no older than 11’, swarmed around Kai for autographs and photos.
