Barney & Amy vs. Lina & Bryan vs. Kevin & LaKesha.
Welcome to Render foe. I’m Kennedy, the poet laurate of trivia. Mhm. In a moment, these three players will have to choose between these potential partners. Three people who they’ve never met, never spoken to, never even sat next to at a blackjack table. And together, these teammates will move through a world of trust, knowledge, and betrayal. They’ll work together to build a trust fund and ultimately decide whether to share the money as friends or fight over it as foes. Here on Friend of Fe. Trust me. Welcome back, friend. It’s time to meet our three players. Our first player is Barney. I’m a pediatric optician and father of four. I enjoy all types of music and throwing barbecues for my friends. Actually, Barney has to cook at home. He’s not welcome at restaurants anymore because he doesn’t always pay his bill. Next, we have Lena. I’m a student. I like karaoke and go-go dancing. But Lena should go go to jail. She’s been known to shoplift makeup and clothing. And finally, there’s Kevin. I’m a college student. My hobbies are cooking and collecting Pez dispensers. But it’s Kevin who dispenses attitude. He’s a snob who thinks that hard work is beneath him. We’ve met our three players and now it’s time to meet their potential partners. Your first potential partner is Lisha. I’m an administrative assistant and I spend time volunteering helping underprivileged girls. But guys, watch out. Lisha expects a man to pay her dinner bill. Once when a guy wanted to go Dutch, she ditched out the back door. And next, there’s Brian. I’m a freelance illustrator. I like comic book art and watching my favorite movie, The Color Purple. Brian used plenty of colors when he spray painted graffiti all over downtown Seattle. Brian. And finally, you have Amy. I’m a homemaker and a mother of three children. I enjoy painting and I used to date a Hell’s Angel. Amy isn’t such an angel herself. She pretends to be her husband on the phone in order to okay her own credit card charges. Well, players, those are your choices. It’s now time to pick your part. Barney, who did you choose? I chose Amy. Lena, how about you? Who’ you select? I chose Brian. All right, Kevin, who did you pick? I chose Amy. All right, then. Lena, you and Brian are officially teamed up. And that means Amy. Since more than one person picked you, according to the friend or foe rules, you get to pick your partner. Who will it be, Barney or Kevin? Well, Kennedy, I think I’ll choose Barney. He looks like an interesting fellow. All right, Barney, you and Amy are now a pair. And that means Kevin and Lisha are also a team. Our teams have been formed. The test of knowledge and of trust is about to begin when we return to friend or foe. Welcome back to Friendo. Our three teams are now in game position. They’re all cozied up in their stations, and each station has been specially wired so they can hear the sound of my voice. How’s everyone doing? Good. Well, you’ll all be happy to hear this. I’m putting $200 in each of your trust funds to start the game off, right? You guys ready? All right. Let me tell you some rules. There are four questions in each round, each worth $500. Both team members must agree on the answer and lock it in in order to score. You have 15 seconds to do so. All right, you guys ready for your first question? Let’s start this mother right. Which foreign film was not remade into an American movie? A loss oo wings of desire or late? And begin. I’ve never heard of that one. That’s one. Let’s go for it. Okay, let’s do it. I don’t I don’t know any of these. I know. Wings of desire was remade. Late. Ljate. I say uh blue. Blue. Yeah, blue sounds fairly. I’m totally following you this blue. Blue. Okay, blue. Barney and Amy, you locked in with LJ. Lena, you and Brian said, Kevin, you and Lisha didn’t lock in soon enough. I’m so sorry about that. The correct answer is blue. Aubrey loss was Vanilla Sky Late 12 Monkeys and Wings of Desire became City of Angels where poor little Meg Ryan was killed on a bicycle. What’s Nicholas Cage should do? Here’s your next question. According to a Maxim magazine survey, the highest percentage of women say a man should approach them at a bar with what? A smile, a wink, a drink, or eye contact and begin. Eye contact. Cuz it’s trust. I agree. I agree. I agree. Hit it. Go ahead. Eye contact or a smile? I think a smile. Think a smile. Okay, that’s good. Eye contact. I’d say eye contact. Eye contact. Bring it. Yeah. All right. Our three teams have locked in. Barney and Amy say a smile is as good as gold at the bar. Lena and Brian say eye contact. Kevin and Lisha also say eye contact. And the correct answer, the eyes have it. It is eye contact. All right, get $5 for that question, guys. Here’s your next one. Which of these women has appeared on the most Time magazine covers? Jaclyn Kennedy, the Virgin Mary, Madonna, or Mother Teresa? And begin. Madonna. Madonna. Okay. Go. Should we go with Jaclyn Kennedy? Okay. We going to do it. Yeah. Okay. Kennedy. Go now. Now. Yeah. I got it. I got it. All right. Our three teams have locked in. Barney and Amy. You say it’s Jacqueline Kennedy. Lena and Brian, you say Madonna. Kevin and Lkesha also say Jacqueline Kennedy and the correct answer the Virgin Mary should have been around a little longer. All right, your final question in this first round and it looks like we have a tie between Kevin and Lisha, you guys have 700 in your trust fund. Lena and Brian, you guys also have 700. Barney and Ny, you have yet to score. Which of these actors is old enough to run for president of the United States? Brad Pitt, Will Smith, Ethan Hawk, or Ben Affleck? and begin. Should we go with Brad Pitt? Let’s go Brad Pit. What the hell, right? You and me. Brad Pitt. Brad Pit. We got to go. Time. Okay. Brad Pitt’s got to be over 35. Okay, we’ll pit B. Brad Pitt. Brad Pitt. All right, go, go, go. All right, our three teams have locked in. Barney and Amy, you guys say, “Ah, what the heck?” You guessed Brad Pitt, Lena, and Brian, you also said Brad Pit. A little debate going on between Kevin and Lisha, but you guys finally settled on the Brad. And the correct answer is Brad Pitt. Although he is dead sexy. He’s 59. You got to be 35 to be president and Wilson is only 34. Ben Affleck is 14. Well, it looks like we are at the end of round one. Kevin and Lisha, you guys are moving on with $1,200 in your truck by night. Lena and Brian, you’re also moving on. You also have 1,200. So, we’re moving you to the next round with the tie. And Barney and Amy, I’m sorry. Although you got that last question right, it wasn’t quite enough. With the least amount in your trust fund, you are eliminated from the game. But now you must choose friend or foe. You got to come over to the trust box. Amy, Barney, inside this fine trust box, you each will find a button which you will use to indicate friend or foe. This decision will determine how your trust fund is divided. And if you both choose friend, you’ll each be getting $350. However, if one of you chooses friend and the other breaks trust by choosing foe, foe takes the entire 700. and friend gets nothing. However, if you both choose foe, you both leave here with no money. Those are the rules. Well, I’m going to give each of you a moment to tell your teammate why they should trust you. Barney, you go first. Well, I did I did leave a tip at the restaurant, but uh I chose you because you seem like somebody that I could probably trust with, you know, with our money. And I hate to see us leave empty-handed. We can I know it’s not a lot, but maybe we can leave with something for the kids. Wouldn’t 700 be nicer for the kids than just 350? It’s been a long day. You know, we get to walk away with nothing. Yeah, that’s right, baby. What do you think? He’s basically saying he’s going to go f. I’m thinking of the kids and um just knowing they’re going to be watching. You have seven seven children between you. That’s $700 potentially. All right, time to talk is over. It’s cheap. Each of you, please place a hand inside the trust box. It’s time to choose friend or time’s up. Your decision is locked. Please place your hands on the table. It’s time to see if any of those babies are going home with a new pair of shoes. $700 is on the line. Let’s see who’s a friend. Who’s a foe? You both went fo. No one gets any shoes. No one gets any money. You’re both leaving here with nothing. Heads hung low. You both went foe. I’m sorry. Amy Barney. No dope for you or for her. Well, we do have two teams that are still in the game. Will they remain united like a couple of Vegas newlyweds or split up like a couple of Reno Divors? You’ll have to find out when we return. Friend or phone. Welcome back to round two. A friend or foe. Our two teams are tied. That’s right. Lena and Brian have 1,200 in their trust fund as do Kevin and Lisha also have 1,200. But as we know, anything can happen in this round because we double the value of each question to $1,000. Party people ready to play? Yeah. Here we go. First question of round two. Which of these is not a type of mushroom? Morel, porttoello, kabi, or shiakei and begin. Kabi or morel? Let’s go to the the col. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah. Yeah. Go. Go. Go. Good. Let’s go K Robbie. Okay. We’re running out of time. Educated guess. Okay. All right. Our two teams have locked in. Lena and Brian are guessing Cole Robbie. Kevin, you and Lishha also saying Cole Robbie. Who is this Cole Robbie? The answer is Cole Robbie. Yeah. A tuna cabbage. Here’s your next question. According to a Gallup poll, which of these things do Americans fear the most? Heights, snakes, needles, or mice? And begin. Um, needles. Needles. Needles. Needles. Come on. Come on. Needles. Definitely afraid of needles. I got it. I got it. I got it. What do you say? Heights. Heights. Heights. More common. All right. Our two teams have locked in. Lena and Brian. You say the American people do not like heights. Kevin and Lisha, you guys say needles. The correct answer is snakes. Still tied up. No one gets any money for that one. $2,200. Going into your next question for each of your trust funds. The good I stand on is my truth and honesty is a quote from which Shakespearean play? McBth, Henry VII, Hamlet, or Oll? And again, it’s not Oll. It’s not Oll. Okay. I’d say McBth. Black. Okay. Got it. They went in and out. Go with B. Okay. Actually, that sounds right. Okay. Henry the eighth then. Henry. All right. Our two teams have locked in. Lena and Brian, you guys say Henry VII. Kevin, you and Lisha say McBth. The correct answer, Henry VII. And all his wives gave it a great review. They gave it a heads up. Fourth and final question of the round. You guys are no longer tied. Lena and Brian have pulled into the lead with $3,200. However, Kevin and Lisha, they get this wrong and you get it right. That means you tie. So listen carefully to your last question of round two. Using US currency, what is the value of one Benjamin Franklin plus one Grant plus two Hamiltons? $122, $52, $142, or $170 and begin. Um I say 170 cuz all those there was there was no George Washington’s there and there was no uh Lincoln’s there. So I say uh um 170 cuz Okay, come on. Last one. There we go. Franklin is 100. Grant is 50. So it’s at least $150. So the only one left is 170. All right. Our two teams have locked in. Lena, you and Brian said $170. Kevin, you and Lisha said $170. And the correct answer is $170. Lena and Brian, that leads with $4,200. You guys are marching right on to our final round. Kevin, I’m so sorry you and Lisha got that one right, but it wasn’t quite enough. Didn’t put you over the top. So now are you going to arm wrestle or are you going to go arm in- arm to the trust box? You must choose friend or foe. Let Kevin, this is the trust box. Your trust fund is now worth $3200. I give each of you a moment to speak your mind. Kevin, you go first. It’s always been my policy to work smarter, not harder. What’s smarter? taking all the money or just half the money? Cooperation. Cooperation. Ask the question. Lisha, what do you have to say? Um, I’m a very honest person and I’m a firm believer what comes around goes around and I think we should. We did work well together and I think we should split the money. Wouldn’t you rather have all the money, Lisha? Honestly. All right. Her eyes say no, but her wallet says yes. Each of you please slip a hand inside the trust box. It’s time to choose friend or foe. All right, time’s up. Your decision is locked. Please place your hands on the table. Let’s see how firm this foundation really is. Lisha and Kevin, you both went full. What do you have to say, Kevin? Kevin, the foundation was as firm as tapioca pudding. How could you trust her? She wants a man to pay her way. That man was you. I told you that, Kevin. And Kevin, Pet dispensers, he sounds like a little boy. You cannot trust a little boy. Well, sorry both of you. When we return, money and alliances will be on the line as our two remaining players go for the big money and then go mono on monmano to determine if their friend or foe will be right back. Welcome back to our final round of friend or foe. Lena and Brianna are hot today. They got $4,200 in that trust fund of theirs. And you know what, guys? In this round, you could win thousands more if you correctly answer 10 questions. Every right answer gives you $500. Every wrong answer gets you a strike. Three strikes and the game is over. However, if you guys manage to get all 10 out of 10, we will double the entire value of your trust fund for a grand total of $18,400. We’re fighting for 60 seconds. 10 questions. Take a breath because it’s time to play right or wrong. Prozac or lithium nirvana song? Lithium. Right. Iowa or Alabama state where the film Foot Loose takes place? Uh, Iowa. Right. May or December? We are putting an additional $4,500 into your trust fund for all your hard work for a total of $8700. Brian and Lena, there’s just one last question. What are you going to do with the money? You going to go friend? You going to go foe? You have to decide. Cuz now your fate is calling at the trust box. Oh, Brian, Lena, we have arrived at our final test of trust. And let me tell you, what a roller coaster ride this has been. You guys played so well together. And if you had gotten that 10th question in time, you would be sitting here debating over $18,400. You were just a second away. And that means you have to settle for $8,700, which is still a lot of money. It’s a ton of money and shows how hard you guys worked together. But now at the trust box, that means nothing. Now you have to decide, are you going to split the cash and be nice about it? Are you going to give it all away? Are you gonna leave with nothing? Lena, you state your case. You go first. I thought that we did an awesome job together. We got every single question right. If it wasn’t for timing, we would have totally made it. And I just think you’re awesome. Love to take you dancing sometime. Brian, what would you like to add? 18,000 plus. That’s a That’s a big pill to swallow. Who do you kick for that? You or Lena? Who screwed that one up? I don’t blame anybody. It just is. But uh Lena chose me. Mhm. So, she uh she obviously knows how to make very good decisions and I’m sure that she’ll make a very wise decision as well. All right. Well, let’s see if that wisdom prevails. Each of you, place a hand inside the trust box. It’s time to choose friend or foe. All right, guys. Time’s up. Your decision is locked. Please place your hands on the table. Leaving here with any disappointments. Lena, you know what? I came here with nothing. And if I leave with nothing, it’s fine. But some money is better than none. I need it to pay for school. All right. But well, Brian, does she have reason to be optimistic? She definitely has reason to be optimistic. Um, I know that she’s in school. I know what that was like. And, uh, I’m sure everything will work out for the best. All right. Well, 8700 is up for grabs. Let’s find out if you’re a friend or a foe. Brian. Oo, you went friend, which means either you’re taking home $4,300 or you’ve just handed Lena here 8700. And Lena, see what you did, friend or foe. You also went, Frank, congratulations. You guys are splitting the money right down the middle. 4350 for Brian. Yay. Yay. answer. Well, thank you. Great game and thank you for joining us. We’ll see you next time on the game where knowledge can make you money and money can make you a friend or foe. Heat. Heat.
