It’s time for the sixth Signature Event on the PGA TOUR schedule, and the TOUR ’s best heads to The Philadelphia Cricket Club’s Wissahickon Course. This week also marks the return of Rory McIlroy, who is set to play his first individual event since his Masters triumph. Although it’s a different course, McIlroy is still the defending champion of the tournament. The Philadelphia Cricket Club is an architectural gem from A.W. Tillinghast and will be a one-year fill-in for Quail Hollow Club, which will host the PGA Championship next week. Joining McIlroy is Justin Thomas, who will tee it up once again after his win at the RBC Heritage, as will other top players such as Ludvig Åberg, Xander Schauffele, Collin Morikawa and Hideki Matsuyama.

Now, speaking of a long shot, if you want to really sprinkle on a heavy underdog, this guy right here, Ricky Fowler, might be the guy. Yeah, it’s real heavy, but uh Right. I don’t know if I want to lift that. [Applause] Yeah, just 126 yards and a a good one inside 15 ft there for Ricky sponsors invite this week and he pays it off. Now Fowler after birding the first a great chance at the second. Ricky Fowler for birdie. Yeah, beautiful long languid putting stroke there. The total length of the stroke was almost as long as the actual length of the putt. So, the four-time champ in the mix again, 2012 champ Ricky Fowler, sponsor exemption this week, making the most of it. What a start by Ricky Fowler here as he plays the eighth. Birdied the first two, has birdied the last four. Ricky Fowl, our hottest player on the golf course. He’s birdied six out of the first seven. Another birdie here at the eighth. And a really good effort. Beautiful path for you can see the bunkers down the left and the hole starts to turn in that direction as well. Highest point here on the golf course. That ninth T. Yeah, there you go. Second. Just a touch uphill. 128 yards is all he had. So that’s Fowler coming across here at nine through the valley. Tia 10. Fowler. 452 the yardage here. Take it over those corner bunkers. This will really open up. What a difference that extra hang time makes. hadn’t missed a green today so far. What’s better than nine for nine? 10 for 10. Easy questions you pose. Yeah, right below the hole. Excellent look. Great chance to get it. Co-leader Fowler trying to take the lead by himself. Oh, gave it a full hit of steam, too, didn’t he? Not trying to lag that. A hammer in the back. And the grass has been confident. That’s a good part. Just snapped left quick, didn’t it? I thought it was firm enough to hold its line. Sounds good. [Applause] Ricky Sweet. 342 through that fairway. That’s a sixiron on the way out of a really hot line. Not spinning at all. Oh boy. A yard or two left and that would have been really good. While we wait a fowler at 15 that bunker [Applause] on a piece a lot shot every human. Yeah. At 15. That’s to get within one. Ricky Fowler on the te. 487 yds. This is headed a little bit left. Quite a bit left. He might get a break though. Looks trampled down over there. The quick answer is yes. Stairs at the Museum of Art. The Rocky Post 17 follower on the way. That’s a nine iron from a pretty good line. Some trampled down rough. Uh comes up well short. So it was either mis hit or it wasn’t enough club. [Applause] Now up 17 and Fowler from the bunker. Cannot play at the hole. Has to use the slopes. [Applause] Well done. Trying to stay bogey free for the day. Can’t do it. A little offline off the tea. It’s going to be costing him a bogey here at 17. What do you think, Frank? A lot of moving there. You notice the he was moving the face around and then he raises it a good what? Fowler in the fairway. That’s a six. A little puff of breeze. Aggressive line. Oh yeah. Left to the flag stick. Yes. Bouncing back after the bogey at 17. 63 for Ricky Fowler. Sponsors invite 63. When I mean great start, I’m talking about your round today. You get six birdies in your first seven holes. When you get off to that great start early in a round, is it challenging to stay in the moment, play shot for shot and not look ahead to what a good number will be possibly at the end of the day? Uh, I mean, you’re always, especially with that start, you’re you’re thinking, okay, let’s let’s see how, you know, how low we can go. But, um, I would say this golf course gets kind of harder as you go. The this the finish here is, you know, the start is easier than the finish. So, getting out to a nice start like that was was awesome. Um, but I knew, you know, I took care of what I needed to early, but um, it was going to hard to be hard to make a bunch of birdies late. Um, so I tried to, you know, keep pushing, keep trying to make them. I I hit some good putts that didn’t go in. Got out of position a couple times, but um, all in all, a good solid day and nice to the last to finish. You look at the stats here, driving, your approach play, your putting, um, all really solid statistical numbers. Did you feel like this was a complete game today? Yeah, you know, kind of in a way well-rounded. Um it wasn’t one specific thing that stood out or was, you know, better than the others, but um yeah, like one thing I saw irons kind of were felt like they were leaking a little bit uh the last couple days and so I made a a minor adjustment, bent them one degree up and felt like that definitely helped tighten some things up yesterday on the range and I think was able to see that um you know, work for the most part today out there. Um so it was good to kind of have everything working well. Nothing uh nothing special, but um just a good solid day. Yeah. I I see you working hard out here on the PGA Tour to try to get your game where you want it to be. How close do you feel like you are to being the player you want to be right now? Uh well, it’s never as far as you think it is. Um you know, it’s such a fine line out here. I’ve been very close to playing some some great golf and you know a shot here or there and and you know what a a made putt versus a missed putt or you know a good drive at the right time what it does from a momentum. Um statistics don’t really take all of that into account and you know how you can kind of build that and build confidence. So um this is this was a nice day to have. I’m definitely happy about it. I’ve been working on the body as well to to, you know, make sure that, you know, I’m able to to go out and and play freely and swing how I want. Um, some minor things here and there. We’re all trying to be the best that we can be and continue to get better. We’re never satisfied. Um, you look at, you know, Rory winning a few weeks back. Um, he’s not quitting. He still wants more. Yeah. Well done today. We’ll see you tomorrow. Thank you, Ricky. Thanks, T. Thanks for watching the PJ tour on YouTube. For more videos, click here. To subscribe, click

  1. he might win a major when almost being forgotten by people now and nobody talks about Rickie win a major anymore.

  2. Well, Fowler suffer from the privilege lazy rich white boy syndrome. And thats I say probably not more than a 5% chance he end up in top 20. But maybe..

  3. Rickie is straight up darting drives now, can't believe it, feels like the 2010's called and all the OG legends are making comebacks😎

  4. Please Rickie play strong throughout the weekend. I would love to see him win. But he needs to play strong this week. Keep your name on the board going into the PGA

  5. Ricky needs to take off those sunglasses specially when he’s golfing it throws his game off and put some regular glasses on -too many adjustments (with the eye )when you’re wearing sunglasses specially when putty
