Hey guys, welcome back to Modern Golf. Hope you’re having a great day and even better week. Today we’re talking about, I think, the most slept on pair of golf shoes in the marketplace, and that’s the municiple. We’re here to talk about how they fit, the comfort, is it the best value and golf shoe there is today, and everything in between. Next, So, if you’re new to our channel, welcome. We mostly talk golf stuff, although every once in a while we throw in some other things uh on the weekend. So, normally our reviews are a couple times during the week and then we throw something on the weekend that has kind of outside the realm of golf. So, if you’re new here, again, please like, please subscribe, please tell your friends, and let’s get on to this. So, if you’re unfamiliar with Municipal, uh Mark Wahberg, who is yes, the actor and yes, that Marky Mark uh guy came up with a brand a number of years ago, Municipal that’s kind of very urban oriented. Uh I love it. Uh you’ll see a lot of celebrities. Miles Garrett uh who plays for the Cleveland Browns is a big endorser of theirs. Very cool clothes. a year or so ago, they came out with these Sport Cross ATG golf shoes and it was kind of a wait to see what the jury said about them. And so I recently ordered a pair and wanted to kind of give you my true feedback of what I think of these shoes. So I just want to give you kind of the presentation. So they come in this corrugated box uh again with some very cool logoing and all that stuff on it. Sizing, colorway, all that stuff on here. What they do is, and I think which is really cool, they send it in this type of shoe bag. So instead of you having to buy a shoe bag, which we always tell everyone to get, Municipal sends it with their own little rubber patching here, little rubber patching here, an Aqua Guard zipper, which is crazy. I know we talk about bags, but um very nice handle, very nice quality bag to be honest with you, for $189 shoe price. Um, but let’s get into the shoes cuz that’s what we’re here to talk about. They do come with and I know I don’t think every color, but I know the color I have uh comes with multiple shoelaces. I think they all come with multiple shoelaces, but again, they just slide down in here. So, if you want to swap them out, you can do that as well. But really nice uh I won’t say gesture, but really nice marketing u with their team regarding how they present their shoes uh to the masses. Let’s get on to the shoes. comfort, all that good stuff. Price point again, 189 bucks. They come in, I think there’s eight or nine different colors. I will put them up now as I Yep. Away. This is the lighter gray. I think they even call this Let’s see what color they call this. I don’t know. Oh, cool gray. Cool gray. Cool gray. Lot of cool grays going on. If you’re a Nike head or Jordan head cool gray, you know what that color is. Um, I picked these out because they had a little bit of color, but I think went with a lot of stuff. I also picked up a couple articles of clothing that I’ll review as we kind of go down the road. This is one of theirs and I’ll put the information up here. Pretty simple, pretty cool line uh really across the board with municipal. Really have enjoyed it. Let’s talk about the shoes. So, let’s talk fit first because that’s kind of I think the most important thing. So, I went with my athletic shoe cuz that’s what I was told to get. I will say this, they fit good. Uh I know some people said they run a little long. I really didn’t have that experience. I think the shoe looks long when you put it on, but again, my toe is right where it was supposed to be, and the widest part of my foot is the widest part of the shoe, which is ideally what you want for a shoe. Um, but let’s talk about all the specs of this shoe. These are waterproof. Uh, I put the warranty up here as well. I was really surprised with these golf shoes. I’ve worn them, I think, three times now. I clean them up as good as I can. They look still pretty good. So, let’s do a tour first of we’ll walk around the shoe and really what I like and what I don’t like. The laces are very thick. Um, what I will say what I did when I get got the shoes, uh, they lace them, let’s say, over and then under. Um, what I’ve learned in I guess life and these hundred years that I’ve been around is I like shoelaces that go more under and then over. Uh, so I can snug it up if that helps anybody. It also helps me adjust the shoe better. So, my laces, I did take them out and redo them. What I will say is the laces are very thick. Uh you may have a little bit of trouble getting it through uh the hole, but besides that, uh they’ve been good. So, let’s take a tour real quick of this shoe. Toe cap here is a little um kind of polyurethane plastic, which I like. The entire shoe, as you can see, and I’ll put pictures up, is this kind of rip stop waterproof material, which I love. As we go around the the counter here and and the right the outsole, you can see there is an outrigger. Uh not as super sticking out as some, but the support is really good in this shoe. I did not find myself sliding uh or lateral support was very good. So, I really like this shoe. Again, we go this the very minimal uh municipal branding, which I like. And you can see the tread uh for the bottom of the shoe wraps around. There’s Mflat here. people. I’ve been told you can throw these in a lake and they’ll float. I’m not going to to test that. Uh not with my pair, maybe somebody else’s. Um but that’s what this is for. As we wrap around uh the heel, very good fit. Uh has a pull tab, which you you don’t 100% need, but you will kind of need with this shoe. Again, very good comfort. If we look inside the shoe, it’s very well padded. One thing I really liked about this shoe is the use of multiple different gray materials. So, you have this kind of suede here on the heel counter. You’ve got this light cool gray rip stop. You’ve got this cool gray here and as well as uh on the side. So, if we turn this guy around, has this little marking here called cross dry 360 to let you know it is a waterproof shoe. Again, I played when it was soaking muddy wet uh two days ago and the shoe held up really well. And that’s when I like to test these shoes. Not an ideal conditions, but really wind there. It’s absolute crap outside how these do. If we get into the outsole, again, I tried to clean this up as good as I can. This is what where the shoe really has surprised me. And I didn’t know I know a lot of people are kind of like me where they complain about, "Oh man, I need spikes." I played in the worst conditions I think a human can play in the other day. it was pouring rain. Um, these held up incredibly well. What I will say is with the comfort, this shoe is very soft. I took zero time to break it in. Very, very comfortable golf shoe. So, overall, what would I rate these shoes? They’re really, really good. $189 out of price point, which is, I think, in a lot of the sweet spot for a lot of people. They do promotions, not all the time. I don’t have an affiliate with any of these guys. Again, we’ll put all the different colors up. Very comfortable shoe, very supportive shoe. I think when you first put them on, it really surprised you how comfortable these shoes are. And again, I I have never worn these before uh until I ordered them and tried them out. Was really surprised in the comfort. Again, I’ll put some looks up of what Municipal has worn suggest to wear them with. And again, you can rock them any way you want. Um, I wore them with uh some black shorts and a gray hoodie almost like their guy said or like they put in their advertisement. Really good shoe. Um, I would say it’s probably in the top five shoes that I’ve tested in the last couple years. Surprisingly, really, really good of a golf shoe. Real I’m going to wrap up and give it a real quick ranking of a number of categories. So, styling, I love them. I’m going to give them a 10 out of 10 because I like this kind of shoe. I like a shoe that I can literally wear out. I can wear to the golf course and really not miss a beat. And I think that’s what they were plan was with this. Very, very cool golf shoe. Fit, I’m going to give a nine out of 10 because it’s not the most perfect fit. It’s a really good fit. Um, again, you’re going to notice the last may run a little long on you, but again, I would suggest go with your athletic shoe size and it fits perfect for me. I could not go down a size. I know some people in the comment section had said to go down half a size. it would be too small of a shoe for me. So again, go with your athletic shoe. Durability. Now, obviously, I’ve only worn these a couple times. I’ve worn them in really bad conditions. So, I can’t really give it a ranking of durability, long-term durability. What I will do is short-term durability. They’ve held up incredibly well. Literally the worst conditions a person can play in. And these held up remarkably, remarkably well. Traction is really good. Zero slipping with these. And and I’ll put pictures up. It’s a very soft rubber compound, but there’s a lot of little spikes in here. Um, so they have done really, really well. Again, my swing speeds are right around 100 miles an hour with my driver. Uh, and they’ve held up. I’ve had no slipping, no issues whatsoever. Overall value, I think the value is phenomenal. I think not only the shoes are great, I think the shoe bag you get has some type of considered value, right? Even if it’s $10, you know, it’s nice to get a whole package that is done. I’m surprised that these shoes are so slept on to be honest with you because they’re really really great golf shoes. And if you’re into more of an urban flare shoe um or just a different look altogether, I love these. I I’ve worn these with cargo shorts a couple days and a hoodie um casually and I wore them golfing twice now and they’ve really done super super well. So, if you’re looking for a pair of golf shoes, again, I’m not affiliated with these guys whatsoever, but I I’m surprised that these have been so slept on in the golf industry, check out the Municipal ATX. I think they’re phenomenal, phenomenal golf shoes, and definitely I don’t know where they have them at store-wise. I I’ll try to put listing up. I don’t know. I had ordered them direct, um, so I’m not 100% sure, but really, really, really good golf shoes. I would not sleep on these whatsoever.
