welcome back to the channel guys today join us at golf repairs VI with Master fitter Sam Smith where we’re going to be having a look at the new Wilson 2025 D power driver range yeah like I said I’ve just become a Wilson stalker so uh yeah I’m excited to see how they are I think you’ll see a lot of these out at Market this year I played with a pro last year Liam Robinson you might have seen him if you watch um James wilshire’s Channel he his coach and he absolutely bash this driver and I would have never you know I’m going to be honest to put put it out there and said this it would’t be the the first brand I’d think about going to you know in terms of drivers yeah I think they’re definitely underrated um and I think it’s you know the these next last couple of years and you know this current model has started to do more The Players Club as well yeah kind the past 10 years I’d say we’ve gone down more forgiving um so it’s nice that we can do both options really we’ll show you a little bit of a close-ups of the heads and obviously a little bit of a comparison and the differences cuz although from the naked eye you look at them and they look quite similar not if you look in detail are they yeah so like yeah we and carbon yeah from the so look quite similar but yeah LS is quite a deep ahead B more the players kind of sty itess let’s just have a look at these yeah so being someone who’s a better player Sam I’m looking at both these heads and obviously they’re both Carbon on the top and bottom aren’t they yeah yeah um and they’re both really really attractive but can you show the main differences between both yeah I mean obviously slight weight change so you can see that LS is more kind of on the back of a sole where the carbon’s more of the the side of the sole um I think that’s more for slight a change in terms of spin um but then also like depth of the head you can see that LS is a lot deeper than the car that were the main thing I picked up on the deepness of the face although it don’t look like it’s like less length tot to heel does it deeper yeah it’s just deep and again like I think a dress is slightly less wide as well V LS it’s almost like a little bit compact from like this into it’s a bit narrower back to front but then you get the deepness of the Bas yeah like I said yeah just um yeah not as wide but a bit deeper basically so yeah just slightly different kind of profile ahead so that were the coron the low spin driver which I’m going to be honest Sam that would probably be where I’d be looking we’re going to test all these drivers to sh some numbers but um they’ve also got the the max in the range aren’t they yeah so the max yeah Max has not got Carbon on the so um price points a little bit cheaper as well and yeah it’s just more of a higher handicap Club it’s a bit more internally draw by as well I think lle when I’ve seen like get set up it looks a bit more right so yeah it’s just more a player want it right to left so for you yeah that would be kind of head you’d want to try should we put this in you know obviously testing though yeah to share you know the differ just to see the differences have it compare then yeah this will work on my Universal sha fittings as well so again we’ll test us with aventus red T about fitted you before so again it’s just a fair comparison OB we’ll test your tailor made as well to just see how we compare to your numbers yeah yeah look forward to this one yeah should be good so we’re going to be doing the testing obviously My Fit adventus red to keep them you know pretty fair yeah yeah what sort of what do you think the shaft options of stock lineup then I think they’re really good you know they’re all you know proper kind of genuine shaft like a on classes say maybe made for say the Ventus but you know the same kind of options as you would in say like Taylor Made or you know FS same as well um but yeah these are all the shfs they do at no up charge and I’ve got every single combination so again if people are on a uh more of a budget you know can’t afford to go kind of upch charge sha and still plenty of options as well all different profiles and stuff I mean by looking at that range though there’s enough range there I mean I I used to love this shaft yeah that’s for New Gen 5 hazardous um yeah again it’s there’s more weights and flexes than ones is here as well so yeah definitely be something you as class as a stock shaft and again I’m a component cam Wilson as well same as I was with uh you pxg so again in terms of like all the other shaft options some of them are going to be no up charge and then some are going to be up charge as well so you know I can fit you into anything here basically for Wilson which is ideal right shall I get some numbers with my driver yeah we’ll get started so we’ve hit some balls with my drive we’ve got some numbers with my stealth to which is my current gamer we’re going to put that shaft into Wilson heads now aren’t we yeah yeah I’m just swapping the grip to um the correct size basically and we’ll sort of talk through each driver in the range obviously for your look um and obviously cuz we testing it with the same shaft it should be quite apparent shouldn’t it there’s differences yeah it’s just literally head tohe head then um yeah there’s no um there’s no doubt then if it’s performing better or not basically so you’ve set this up same as my driver yeah it’s 10 and 1 half turn down to nine swing weight at D7 yeah um and I’ve got to say I’ll put a close-up in it don’t look too dissimilar to too actually yeah Carbon on the top black and red color way with the head and shaft so yeah it does look pretty similar um B but yeah I say core head so I say like middle of a range head so that’s going to fit kind of most golfers um so yeah we’ll see how this interest see how the numbers vary how it feels and certainly like consistency because I think the core red and the ls I think if you’re a single figure handicap golfer you’ve got a big decision to make and you yeah and it might come down to which one you know the spin profile that you’re looking for yeah and obviously both weights adjustable as well so you can play that with kind of spin rates it feels nice oh sh please don’t tell me it’s going to go 20 hours past my driver cuz I’ve not to not really a position to be buying new clubs at minute obviously main um yeah main thing is obviously when you’re seeing it is just a lot more of a ball speed than anything if it’s if it is going further yeah Al we’ll keep an eye on Club head speed what’s my ball speed with my current driver at minute um we had a average 155 today um so B Tad slower than you normally on but just what it is on the day I tell you what with a core Ed I can tell it’s more for giving them mine yeah um well first shot definitely had a touch more spin on than um your head obviously yours have a plus stealth too so that’s going to be equivalent to the ls um and yeah that’s where you you’ve been saying lately you felt like you’ve lost a little bit of control of a driver so something with more spin that’s going to help anyway the number we never lie in our videos the numbers you put in are quite the Cherry Picked aren’t they because I at quite a few bad drivers of my driver yeah you weren’t amazing warming up um and I felt like I mean I’m I’m good at getting the ball in play but sometimes I me a bit out of bottom at face you know it’s not an ideal sort of shape sh it’s a bit low and cuty whatever I at the Fairway but with this so ready I’m feeling as though like I’m striking it better and I don’t know if the you know it looks better yeah we’ll check the numbers but it just feels straight with I’m striking it better I’m pretty certain we doing an 8 degree head in that as well so I’m waiting for that to come in so that’ll be um that’ll be a good combination for me I think to try cuz when I I tested a nine and um did like it we just again launch and split a bit more than I’d want shall we move on to the ls or do you want to have a look at the numbers uh I think we’ll go LS and then we’ll look at the numbers after uh be interesting just to sort of while I’ve got this feel in mind straight on to LS CU especially you know these would potentially be two of the drivers I’d be looking at won’t they head style wise yeah definitely I know first impressions felt nice First Impressions you know what really nice yeah and I’m definitely somebody in N I’m a bit longing to um but I I would play any driver you know if it perform well yeah um brand do really matter to me you know like I have my preferences but I won’t go down the route of just saying oh I’m going to buy a Callaway driver this year I’m going to buy a Tade driver yeah yeah it’s like you said I think it’s more getting fitted correctly more than anything well the reason I went for stealth 2o it weren’t ever going to be my favorite or First Choice to driver but it’s because you fitted it me yeah and I happy with the fit I happy with the performance and I thought well I’m not going to get a better performing Drive than that and it’s probably one of clubs that I’ve had in my bag longest in recent years say you had about 15 months now I think so yeah quite a while be laughing at that but you know when you’re obviously doing fitting and you’re in golf industry um I mean the the head it sits a little bit more open it’s compact it’s deeper it certainly does appeal to me yeah uh but let’s see how it feels looks small it looks smaller from Top yeah no doubt definitely not as wide no when we put them close-ups in early it might not have looked cuz you you’re getting them quite closeup but you know from here when you’re looking down at it yeah I’m already looking down thinking that’s a lot smaller compact head fly You’ never think you got will driver in your R You Know M cuz obviously like Wilson and sort of like made high performance drivers in I mean they did they have done it last couple of years haven’t they there been a I feel as though they’ve not been in the I say like better players running for for better players you know to be looking at yeah IR you know like the staff model irons have done they’ve been really been there a really good like blade semi blade for for years like both models but yeah we’ve always just struggled to kind of get that better play in a a driver ear that were a bit at bottom interesting to see how that performs it’s definitely my weakness you know um hitting a lot of shots at the bottom at Club face M I think obviously need to start teing it up a bit higher and could be high could have even s like how you coming in lle Wise we driving a lot of times if people are quite tow up for example your stri point can drop that felt lightning of face yeah sure it feels like I know what’s going on a bit more with this yeah in terms when I said the other one felt more forgiving I felt like I didn’t really know where I WR in face it almost felt like it were it were a sweet shot all the time whereas this one I could you know you probably re that reaction to out bottom at face that one to in a really good shot yeah there just like probably more feedback and what I would say is being somebody that’s not being so confident with a driver over the last like 10 years is that that feedback is great if you’re a better player but I think if you’re like somebody who’s not very confident last thing you want to do is feel bad shots I think sometimes you’re better being lied to you’re better having a a forgiving driver that makes you feel like you’re striking it nice because it keeps you positive yeah yeah um and that’s just coming from my experience as a golfer is yeah yeah sometimes we need a little bit of help and be to be made to feel like we’re striking it but probably better than we are yeah of course whereas with this one like it’s going to let you know what you’re doing wrong but suppose your lowend cap golfers might want that more yeah I think some people prefer that that was good yeah got you is that enough yeah I that be fine it’s going to be a big contrast now a they going to Max yeah yeah so so we can try the max if you want I want to try cuz I want to sort of see what the difference is between the carbon and the steel yeah again yeah it might feel a bit different and then also I’d imagine it’s going to go a bit higher Spin and a bit more left sided even we kind of knocking The Loft down um just because of the profile of a head basically I’m putting that down and it looks like a frame pan massive it’ be a bit bigger than the viewers I mean confidence inspiring you’re not going to get any more confidence inspiring than that are you yeah it’s uh definitely a good one if you yeah just need a bit more forgiveness I think you know when you think about the older equipment and guys getting there no wonder people struggle to get into golf back then yeah when you look at that and even you you know you D could hit that couldn’t you that will low at it face yeah which you’d probably expect a bit more because the head should sit naturally a bit more ight I don’t know if you can see that um again just to help make it kind of release over because the toe goes High strike drops a bit more would you see any really good ball strikes in his head just out of matter interest potentially again if someone spins it say very low yeah and you know just wants to was a bit more forgiving or maybe strike wise we really struggling to kind of you know drop the strike and yeah potentially again if people aren’t bothered by the looks of it you people try anything what’s surprising like feel wise I’ve not felt a great deal of difference between the carbon and obviously steel oh okay um I we expecting it might sound different or feel different yeah I can’t say I’m noticing a great deal of difference yeah no carbon is a little bit more muted again you might be able to pick it up like on camera in terms of like the sound sound might be a bit different it it um it feels closer to the like core version what’s that model called car carbon obviously LS felt like some that felt in a league of its own yeah whereas this feels like as forgiving I don’t feel like I feel there’s any more forgiveness in this but numbers might tell you differently yeah yeah um but this just feels equally as forgiven as like carbon um and it’s certainly like as a footprint it looks bigger probably probably appeals more like for confidence yeah yeah of course that were a nice strike you know when you’ve sort of timed it well definitely shapes more than viewers what it’s designed for so you know we can’t expect every head to be kind of dead neutral flight you know cuz again you got it inally is just more draw bias than the others and the ly was an impact um face angle has an impact if it’s first time tuning to the channel guys like I actually try to fade the ball I don’t often fade it I’m trying to fade it which sometimes makes it a bit more like straighter or a slight pull to left but this one definitely feels like it’s fighting against yeah it’s always going to be turn wanting to go so it’s it’s more draw bias into it yeah definitely that felt good still lots of good left on it yeah that’s what it’s designed for yeah we’ll have a look we’ll uh tidy up the numbers a little bit but then just see how we all compare really yeah but it’s good that we’re not all being similar in terms of the ball flights and the spins and stuff like that um so yeah we’ll uh we’ll have a look right then Sam just talk us through these numbers then yeah so all a bit different so you the max is meant to be kind of the highest spinning and that’s spinning the lowest but that’s more down to the fact that you kind of turning over a lot because it’s really kind of draw and that’s just shutting the face taking over The Loft off and taking the spin down um LS surprisingly spun a bit more than the carbon again it back would depend on kind of stri location as well if you may be hitting it slightly different on the head obviously ball speed you can see with all in a few decimals so we very all very consistent uh carry again both 274 in carbon Max 272 V LS um obviously all very very similar distance I say to yours um what I would say is if you know if you ever say had a fitting for a Wilson I’d definitely go lower L for 10 and a half so you know 10 and a half in tailor made works fine but I’d say in a 10 and a half in these knock down still just going a little bit High um if that’s for me either would that not be for other people as well just to be aware of yeah launch a little bit out yeah everyone’s going to be different I’d say but from what I’ve seen here you can see you know they’re all I think yours might be set on 8 degree uh sorry 8 and a half degree so there’s only half degree difference between everything we’ve tried but it shouldn’t obviously be launching you know about much higher yeah um so again yeah again that’s another thing to get fitted you know you might think oh I’m just going to get the same Loft as me old driver but it’s quite a bit different so in real ity you could potentially get even more out of all them drivers I mean you know dispersion wise you have a look it’s probably a little bit tighter as well you can see the carbon’s a little bit straighter than yours yeah um OB you see the max is way more to the left um but it’s good again but it definitely stands out if you need in that kind of Club to get turn I think that would be one we’ have just written off w we it’s just not it’s not something we have done in a fitting but just for this video to show the whole product line um yeah but I think carbon probably would be the one for me I think you felt more comfortable with that than anything else um but yeah I’d probably maybe go N9 degree ahead and potentially see how that would be in terms of ball Flor so I think in conclusion Sam um you know I don’t know what you’re thinking but in terms of myself I probably maybe have self fitted into LS yeah but actually having tested him I could definitely say my preference would be carbon yeah I mean looking at the data it was a little bit straighter spin was a little bit better than the ls for you um and again that’s another reason why you know you need to have a fit in and not just get drawn into one model and I could have even told you that we ar seeing the data so I think if you are obviously looking to go down that route of Wilson this year or testing them um you know don’t sort of selfit don’t get in mind what you want go with an open mind and be led by how it feels and the data and your confidence yeah um I think overall I think it’s very good product yeah I can’t wait to um obviously put is head-to-head with other products in in future yeah yeah but I think it’ll definitely be the the core the carbon one that i’ be testing yeah um but yeah you’ve enjoyed that video guys obviously we’re going to be doing some more Wilson videos it’s obviously new Range this year yeah yeah one of the most interesting points youve said is that this new fitting kit is it yeah um so we’ll probably look at doing a video on that as well so that new AI fit um so yeah that would be an interesting one to see s being a master fitter you’re going to be the biggest critic of this cuz it’s been basically could take your job potentially yeah that’s what we’ll see you know we can obviously see what I’ve kind of fitted you for yourself and if that’s ended up being what they say similar so yeah it’ be a good one to fit definitely so we’ve got plenty more videos coming if you’re not already subscribed make sure to subscribe button check some out
