Hi I’m Matt Lockey, welcome to my Coach Lockey YouTube Channel. This YouTube channel is designed to help you play better golf, and to help you enjoy your golf more!

I specialise in golf course vlogs, golf challenges, golf tips, golf lessons, golf club reviews and the odd golf club unboxing. So pretty much everything golf!

I want to help you play better golf by providing coaching videos on all topics about golf. How to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
As well as helping you produce the best long game you can have, I will help you lower your scores by chipping better, stopping duff and thin chips, pitching the ball closer and creating backspin like the tour pros. Finally, I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts too!

In today’s golf lesson video, I am going to give you one simple golf tip to help you hit your driver long and straight. This simple golf tip is going to help you synchronize your driver swing, which will allow you to get into better impact positions to hit that driver long and straight. Before I give you this simple golf tip, if you’re new to the channel, hello and welcome. If you’re a returning viewer, hello again. Little reminder for you all, if you’re not subscribed to the channel, please do consider hitting that subscribe button. It helps me to continue to make free content just like this to help you lower your scores. Hit the thumbs up if you enjoy the video and turn your bell on so you get notified of when I upload all my new videos. So, let’s get straight into it. I want you to grab an alignment stick or an extra golf club, doesn’t matter which, and pop it on the floor like so in line with that golf ball and 90° from my target line. This is basically representing our ball position. If I was to set up with driver here, this is going to be slightly inside my lead foot. It’s also going to represent our low point. If you want to hit your driver as long and as straight as possible, you want to be hitting that golf ball on that low point to slightly on the way up for most golfers watching this video. If you struggle with slicing and not hitting the golf ball very far with your driver, you’re probably hitting the golf ball on a descending blow. So, your angle of attack is on the way down. that’s going to create lots of spin, not getting the maximum out of your drives. So, our low point, generally speaking, is on our lead armpit. If I was to stick my arm out in front of me here, that club can’t go any further away from me. So, as I move it back and back down, this is going to be downward angle attack. And then I’ll get to my low point and then it will start to move on the way up. So, we need to get this low point in the right spot relative to the golf ball. So, what I want you to do is just grab your golf club and pop it around your lead armpit and just get it swinging. Okay? So, you’ll start to see that that club moves down. That would be a downward angle of attack. Then, it gets to our low point, which is here around our lead armpit, and then it will start to move back up. Now, for golfers who struggle with slicing and catching it all over the face, you’ll start to see that as you get to the top of your back swings, there’s a big charge with this upper body. Okay? If I now charge with my upper body and get that club to swing that is moving on the way down as we get to the golf ball down, low point, then up. We want you to start to understand where to line this club up to get that low point in the right spot. So, it’s a motion. You’re going to add some motion into this club and you’re going to add some motion into your body. Okay? So, I’m going to start pushing in the ground as this club starts to move back, which will then allow me to push out of the ground as this club is coming down. my upper body might start to move back a little bit to get this club lining up at the right spot. So, club head, shaft, and grip all in line with my alignment stick on the floor. So, I want you just to understand where that low point is of the arc and start moving into some motion like a golf swing. So, it’s still moving. And as I start to put some pressure in, look how much this is starting to now swing because I’m getting the motion of my body involved. This is now swinging more than what it was here. So I’m now pushing in the ground. It’s starting to go further up, further up. But I want to try and line it up and feel that low point at the golf ball. You’ll start to see that my upper body will start to move back to align these three three things up. the head, the shaft, and the grip, and get my armpit roughly around that to stick. So, I’m now hitting this golf ball on my low point slightly on the way up to get me hitting that golf ball as long and as straight as possible. You might feel all out of sorts and all out of rhythm when you start doing this, but just bear with it. Get the motion going. Get some flow in these moves, and you’ll start lining this club up and getting that low point in the right spot. Couple of swings. Get those arms moving. Get that club lining up with that stick on the floor. And then add some motion in as well. Pushing in the ground. Pushing back out. Getting that club to line up. And then getting that angle of attack and low point in the right spot. And then try and line it up in your swings as well. Let me know in the comments down below if this simple golf tip helps you hit your longest and straightest golf drives. I’d love to know. 1. Love this! Thanks Coach Lockey. Hit me at just the right time when I am a little bamboozled and flustered with Driver (over thinking things). This is a great reset!
