Billy Horchel faces hip surgery. Aims for late summer comeback. Billy Horchel has confirmed he’ll be stepping away from the PGA Tour for the foreseeable future after revealing a right hip injury will require surgery. The seventime PGA Tour winner shared the emotional update on social media, explaining the procedure is scheduled for early next week in Colorado. The injury forced Horchel to withdraw from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans last month. Since then, he sought medical advice and made the tough call to undergo surgery as a precautionary step. It’s an unfortunate situation with so many great events left on the calendar, he said, but this is a preventative measure. Horschel has already played 12 events this season, including the Masters in April and a T-27 finish at the RBC Heritage. He also helped lead Atlanta Drive to victory in the first ever TGL season earlier this year. Despite the setback, he remains hopeful for a return later this year, hopefully returning to the golf course late summer, early fall, he shared. The 37year-old is focused on recovery and expressed gratitude to his family, friends, and sponsors for their support. “We’ll get through this,” he said, “and I’ll keep sharing updates as rehab progresses.” Friends, what is your opinion about this?
