RORY MCILROY and his wife, Erica Stoll, are set to move into their newly built family home in the UK next month, according to a report from GB News.

The Masters winner, his wife and daughter Poppy will relocate to Wentworth, Surrey, in June, following the conclusion of the season’s third major tournament at the U.S. Open.

McIlroy has been renovating a residence at Wentworth GC, home of the DP World Tour

The timeline would coincide with the Open Championship, which will take place at Royal Portrush in Co Antrim, just one month after the June’s US Open at Oakmont.

Despite the move, they pair will retain their Florida property in Jupiter, which serves as McIlroy’s base during the PGA Tour season.

The couple purchased the plot in the exclusive Wentworth estate a couple of years ago.

They were drawn to the location due to their fondness for London and the cooler summer climate.

McIlroy revealed that he and Erica visited their new Surrey home immediately after his Masters triumph.

The Northern Irishman claimed the Green Jacket after beating Justin Rose in a play-off at Augusta.

Speaking with the the media ahead of this week’s Truist Championship at Philadelphia Golf Club, the Down star spoke about visiting the property after his Grand Slam success.

He said: “Straight after Augusta we travelled over to see the house as it was going through the finishing touches visit.

“It was fun to see and we could have stayed in it, but we wanted to get over to Holywood.”

The couple, along with their daughter Poppy are preparing for a new chapter as they balance family life and a demanding golf schedule.

Meanwhile, McIlroy is excited to move on from his Masters and Grand Slam success as he revealed the nerves he felt during that final round at Augusta National.

Speaking to the media ahead of Thursday’s opening round at PCC, the five-time major winner admitted he’s relieved that he finally got to don the green jacket.

36-year-old McIlroy admitted that it was tough to get over the line, he said: “It feels as though that period is behind me, and that I’m looking forward to the next few months.

“Yeah, I’m just glad that it’s done. I don’t want to have to ever go back to that Sunday afternoon again.”
