Gas out in the first round, forgot the technique mid roll, tapping to pressure. Yeah, we’ve all been there. Look, but someone helped you. Someone took the time to slow things down to show you the ropes without any ego. Or maybe no one did, and you had to figure it out the hard way. Either way, now it’s your turn. Be the upper belt that helped you or the one you wish you had. That one role or kind word can be the reason someone sticks around long enough to fall in love with jiu-jitsu. And that really matters. This art isn’t just about who’s the toughest. It’s about who lifts others up. So, stop flexing on the beginners. Build the tribe. Lead with humility. And that’s what real jiu-jitsu is about.
