Charlie Woods has been listed as a participant for the Team TaylorMade Invitational, which runs from May 25-28, after being absent from the golf scene for three months.

Woods, 16, is eager to follow in the footsteps of his father, Tiger Woods, and one day become a successful professional golfer. Due to the status of his father, Charlie is already feeling pressure to perform, and his natural talents haven’t gone unnoticed.

After last competing at the Dustin Johnson World Junior Championship in February 2025, Woods hasn’t been seen in any public tournaments since. However, Woods has been listed as a participant for the upcoming invitational in Bowling Green, Florida, as he returns to the spotlight.

While Woods hasn’t been seen in public events, he has been competing in U.S. Open qualifying. Unfortunately for Woods, he came up short on May 5, meaning that he failed to progress from the first round of qualifying for the second year in a row.

Woods only shot 3-over-par at Wellington National, but it wasn’t enough to see him through to the second stage. Woods may be touted as a future star because of his father, and Tiger has also claimed that Charlie is an exceptional player, but he really rose to fame at the PNC Championship in 2024.

The 2024 PNC Championship took place in December at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, as Tiger and Charlie teamed-up. The Championship is a two-player scramble format, where each player takes a shot and the best effort is selected.

Team Woods finished second in the competition, after losing to Bernhard and Jason Langer in a playoff. However, it was still a major achievement as Tiger was playing for the first time since undergoing back surgery, and Charlie managed to hit the first hole-in-one of his career.

Tiger was so proud of his son following their thrilling weekend, and said: “He [Charlie) has gotten better at every facet of the game. That’s a commitment to practicing and developing as a player. I think that most of us forget he’s only 15 years old.

“I know he’s been doing this in front of the media for a long time but, being only 15, I think it’s incredible what he’s been able to accomplish so far and the ceiling that he has is unlimited. For us to have that experience together, I know we didn’t win, but it was the fact that we competed.

“No one really made a mistake out there. We had to earn it and that’s what you want to have. Hats off to the Langers – they played amazing.”

Charlie also outplayed Tiger for nine holes during the PNC Championship, leading fans to believe that he could be the real deal. “He beat me for nine holes,” Woods said. “He has yet to beat me for 18 holes. That day is coming. I’m just prolonging it as long as I possibly can.”

While Tiger is supportive of Charlie, he doesn’t want him to be a carbon copy. The legendary golfer has urged his son to be nothing other than ‘Charlie Woods’ and said last year: “I was always reminding him, ‘Just be you.’ Charlie is Charlie.

“Yes, he’s my son. He’s going to have my last name, and it’s going to be part of his core. But I just want him to be just himself and be his own person. That’s what we can only do.

“I always encourage it, for him to carve his own name, carve his own path and have his own journey. I think he’s doing a great job. In this day and age where everyone is basically media, with all the phones, being constantly filmed and constantly people watching, that’s just part of his generation, and that’s part of the world that he has to maneuver through.”
