4TH RANKED PUBLIC GOLF COURSE IN THE US/PACIFIC DUNES PART 1
[Music] [Applause] [Music] what’s going on guys welcome back to the channel so we’re still up here abandoned dunes second day of the trip today we’re playing pacific dunes and we’re gonna have a little different conditions today aren’t we yeah it’s the winds are starting to pick up today the first stay out of hitting it was pretty quiet it’s from whipping about 20 right now and they said it’s gonna be about 30 all day so it should be you know a really good day to what ryan breaking we’re gonna let you guys know at the end of the trip which courses are favorite so far this one looks like it’s gonna be a little bit tougher we could already see a ton of modulation out there in the fairways and the best view looks a lot nastier but behind us guys we want to show you the punchbowl which is two football field-sized cutting green and as you guys can see as far as the eye can see not really but you got putting green all over the place so we’re out here yesterday rollin pots they have usually an 18 hole course setup looks like the pins are taking down right now it’s still a little bit earlier in the morning but this is all putting green that you can just have a field day on one of the nice things about the punch bowl out here is not only they have a massive pudding room but they also serve drinks alcoholic and non-alcoholic right back there from the tap in bar and lady will bring drinks out to you they’ll have drink holders out here and this whole place is just like kid in the candy store I mean you could spend all day out of here rollin putts alright guys hole number one out here at pacific dunes about 320 yards from the tips and we already got a little bit of wind coming in to us maybe pushing a little bit to the left it feels like as you can see pretty pretty open fairway from here green is going to be a little bit to the right so it’s gonna be a slight dogleg to the right but don’t need a driver here just the 3-wood or drive and iron you should do it [Music] all right we got the whole crew here what’s going on guys we got t-boned be loved marky-mark from the club fix Big D what’s up so hit a pretty good Drive there got about 90 left just gonna flick a little wedge into the green see if I can start off good [Applause] good cat listen the Caddy right there it took three wood not quite sure that was the play but we’re going with it ended up just over here a little dry spot got 115 lot gonna go with the reproach motion that’s right at it looks great oh just pass the pin looks really good sorry about that yeah I think that thing juiced all the way back oh there it is I’m up on the Mount all right good shot JC absolutely noot that driving Aaron he’s loving that thing on this trip beating that sucker all day yesterday it’s got probably about 85 into this green it’s gonna get aggressive kept it low a little skinny up on the right okay it’s coming down that’s fine all right hit a good drive down the middle here I got 75 left just gonna hit a little chippy 54 wins in to us probably plus 20 he just took a little nicest fillet divot you’ve ever seen it looks really good a little long had some spin on it but it’s gonna be in the top shelf by the way we’re doing the same match as we did with these boys playing for dinner DC and JC against Mikey and I so must and with one last one why I think two shots all right I had a good one in there probably got about a seven eight footer coach went back side of the green right on the edge he’s gonna have a pretty fast little putt down there and then I think be ski was down here below the hole and JC air he put a mark down but he was pretty much pin-high [Music] soles 368 yards you guys can see we’re just a couple functors up there in the fairway going to the wind again pins up there on the right hand side looks like everything’s kind of slope into the left so I think might open up a little bit more to the right as well it’s not the headline [Music] so got about 110 left after that drive I’m gonna hit a wedge all right guy said another good drive there got about 100 yards but with the wind it’s playing about 115 or so I’m just hitting approach way just want to take a little bit off bit cabbie said don’t go long so how we keep it under the hole we got Camden on the bags today again what’s up dude what’s up [Music] this one looks good yeah I just write of the pin should be good all right guy 97 yards playing probably like 110 little uphill into the wind I’m just gonna hit my little 54 and the nice one here just a little bit right of the flagstick but distance control it good bounce to the left and we’ll see I think that’s gonna be pretty close another nice shot another big fat divot look at this fillet mmm pleasure doing business I’m a digger so JC’s got about 85 yards left just off the fairway here he’s got a good look in caught a little heavy shoved it out to the right comes Justin shot and landed on top of the hill it’s gonna come down I think looks pretty good big cat ended up a little bit long he’s down in that little Swale so he’s probably about 6 7 feet below us and he’s got this huge mound that he’s got to go over and then it’ll trickle and feed towards that hole right there [Music] all right hole number three already getting a little glimpse of the ocean out there as you guys can see just looks absolutely amazing from up here this one’s about 500 yards par 5 I believe just a bunch of bunkers littered in the middle of the fairway once again I think that front right one is not really in play for us for us but the further to our everything’s still going into the wind and as you can see the Greens up there all the way to the left looks like it’s going to be down towards the cliffs should be a nice approach shot and in this one [Music] all right bit kept pulled that drive a little bit he’s got a tough little lie but you know he’s got a lot of open area to the left I think he’s just trying probably lay up with like a six or 5-iron all right guys missus driver over here on the right but got a good break stayed short of this shrubbery we got a bunker it’s about 180 yards clear across I’m gonna hit that with a 5-iron and stick a little bit off bit see if I can get back in position okay topped it and towards that bunker he’s in it so I’ve got about 195 playing about 225 that’s what we’re guessing so I’m gonna hit a driving RJC only by about ten yards feels good I got 217 up the hill into the wind I’m gonna hit a little bunt cut 3-wood on you skinny this pushed it a little bit to the right headed for those bunkers no shocker here JC got us all with the drive we’re playing this for about 230 yards he’s got the driving iron sounded good but he pushed it it’s up in the wind it’s heading to the right I don’t know what’s over there but can’t hit it in this bunker he’s got a 12-foot lip in front of them gonna be super tough he’s probably just gonna hit like a little I don’t know 9-iron maybe okay got it out got it a bit heavy and it’s right in front of that other bunker making a mess out of this hole come to grind it out it’s my fourth shot I got 130 in the wind I’m gonna hit a 9-iron see if I can get up there oh you caught this one really good should be right at it just a little left all right if you can make that for a little par ski this is what we’re working with JC’s and some tall hey he’s got to go over this nasty bunker to that pin right there and I think he’s gonna probably have to hit a little flop shot here down down down down down all right you’re out you popped it out it looks like Brian ended up just a little bit short of the green maybe about 15 yards I’m on the green right there got maybe at 15 18 footer for par and then coach is right over there and the edge of that bunker he’s probably about 10 feet below the surface of the green and he’s debating right now whether to hit the 64 the 60 bucks like he went with the 60 I hit that nice Oh almost made it really good shot he’s got about 6 feet for birdie these skis got his putter out it’s really a good play out here I mean everything is just cut so tight the wedges it’s really easy to to dig them or thin them from these types of lives [Music] all right pretty good part left himself about six feet or so going back up the hill JC hit one I think out of the crap over there and went over the green hit a really good shot there what’s the spin – really good left himself about seven or eight feet [Music] all right good birdie back to even walk in between the holes can I do the Probie Pro II balls do two of those all right so we just scooped up some of the pro e energy balls that they saw out her abandoned dunes protein energy balls I’m gonna give them a try give you guys rating but you know how good they are Salomon they say look kind of funky I’m not gonna lie but [Music] 8.7 whoo-hoo shiz so a little signature saying they do out here so it looks like crow energy we’ve got another amazing par-4 it’s four hundred and forty nine yards we got the coast right over here got the ocean views up on a cliff kind of reminds us of Torrey Pines you’ve got a bunker that it’s about 275 yards dead center you got a pick a line and it looks like you got a pick right and obviously there’s hazard and the ocean to the right so if you miss a little bit yeah it’s definitely gonna go down [Music] big cut ended up in the slot bunker in the middle of the fairway it’s gonna tough out he’s probably just gonna hit a wedge yep he did great shot well done there she is have 184 yards left Hetty saying definitely leave his shorts on his 7-iron see if I can run one up Justin with a great Drive he’s got about a hundred and ten left he’s gonna play this about 100 just like a little wedge on their clothes oh yeah this looks really nice going right at the pin give him a good bounce where I got 134 hit a really good drive down here I’m gonna try and capitalize with the wedge this time and stuff close I got a little chippy pitching wedge and that nice drawing right at it no right next to it great shot guards left straight downwind a little lob wedge see if I can throw one in there inside of coach left of the pen rolling up oh my gosh it’s gonna be good yeah what a good golf shot that was I think he’s got probably about 60 yards [Music] okay really well done right there all right we got JC right here right in front of us and then we got the big cat that came up over the hill with that sixty and then I actually had a really good wedge in there finally and then you just saw B come up [Music] it’s a hard hard hole no loved it though this course is uh it’s really pretty these greens are spectacular really difficult to put on a lot of undulation pretty much what you know what you’re getting into with with dope right I mean that’s kind of in semo so really spectacular of course again – it’s gonna be funded to be anyhow I know right which one is your favorite don’t help me s’more is part three here first one of the day it’s about 200 yards and it is playing straight downwind as you guys can see up there green is just massive but if you missed any where left to ride you got bunkers it does look like everything slopes towards the paint if you miss a little bit to left so that’s nice but yeah downwind should be a fun one coach had a good one started up the left side fading towards the pin landed on the green line right it’ll be up there somewhere to go should be feeding towards it it’s got the finger out keep coming this looks really good boobies carving this one in there nice a little left-to-right shot it should be good [Music] yeah really good shot he’s on Oh big cat hit this one really good just pulled it a tiny bit needs a good bounce oh he’s in the bunker [Music] Justin pulled that just a little bit left he’s a go okay all right look at how massive this green is right here thing just looks huge I think I landed on the front came up over this tier B hit a great shot in there he’s right there to the right and then I’m just past the pin probably about eight feet big cats in the bunker right here it’s not as bad as we thought he does have to get over some whispies and then just let it run out oh yeah boys good that’ll work now well played and then we got JC over and the other bunker looks nasty oh boy it’s got some good hands oh yeah give it to him Oh we’d do it oh what a par nice job dude [Music] the hice what a birdie welcome hole number six 316 yards we just turn back into the wind obviously this is playing downhill as you guys can see bunker on the right bunker on the left the green side but then there’s another big one to the right over there looks like the fairway opens up to the right up there but this looks like a gettable hole [Music] we got a couple little babies hrum and however saying hello let’s go all right I’m tired I got eighty yards left gonna throw a sandwich up there see what happens boo nipped it it’s going right out it got 50 yards playing 60 it’s a tight little pin I’m gonna probably have to miss a little long on this play it safe I landed it right next to the flag very nice shot did [Music] a little bit left of the pin good distance control now they’re well done shot right there good job all right hit pretty good drive here got a nice angle we’ve got 40 left wind is right in my face I’m just gonna throw it up see if it lands on the right shell okay well done [Music] all right guys how was the end of part 1 just have another awesome time out here at Pacific dunes and the boys were playing well Mike stone some darts today yeah really tough putting greens out here if you’re not experienced they can make you look like an amateur which we are and the slope rating out here is a 143 so it’s really tough the winds start and whip up fairways are in great shape just really love this Golf Course make sure you hit the thumbs up on that one and hit that subscribe button we’ve still got a couple more courses up here at Bannon plus two more series from this one so make sure you stay tuned come back and see how we finish up [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music]

4TH RANKED PUBLIC GOLF COURSE IN THE US/PACIFIC DUNES PART 1
PACIFIC DUNES GOLF COURSE was Designed by one of the best designers in the business Tom Doak and opened in 2001. This is the second course constructed at Bandon Dunes Resort and the highest ranked among the resort’s four 18s on the property. Pacific Dunes might be the most scenic and beautiful course we have ever played. 2019 it was listed by Golf Digest as the 2nd Greatest Public Course in the country and the best course in Oregon. I’d love to see the PGA tour out here for a big event with no cut line on a windy week…sounds fun to me!
The winds picked up to 30mph and the greens were a little bit slower than Bandon Dunes…so we had to adjust our game from how Bandon Dunes played the day before. Like Tom Watson says “when it’s breeze swing easy” You must live by this rule in these windy conditions. We found there could be as much as 5 club difference on any given shot. There were times when the caddie would say 135 playing like its 170-175. We are just hoping we will learn how to break 80 in the wind at Pacific Dunes. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again it’s hard to pick a favorite out here at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort, all the course offer a different look a what a great golf course is.
I just love the Tom Doak designed golf courses and this is my favorite! This course is so awesome! Thank you Mr. Doak for designing such a masterpiece!

Wow, I need to book this trip with my golf buds. Is there a long wait in the queue for tee times like Pebble?
Marko Na
….so it seems like you guys quit your day jobs…jealous!
Pleasant video pace. Interesting comments and good atmosphere. Keep on the great job guys !
I like the little zoom in on three.
Is it the video or are these fairways junk?
Went and played today and had the dumbest round of my life…. HIT 3 FAIRWAYS, 6 GREENS AND SHOT 74…. WHAT COULD'VE BEEN
You guys do such a nice job. Keep up the great work. Enjoy.
what do you guys use to trace your shots?
What are these guys handicaps?
I've been keeping an eye open for play at Olympic .. is that coming up?
them divots getting put back ?
love the sound of driver meeting golf ball
as an oregon boy, what was your favorite?
Worst muzak ever!
I did love this course, i shot 94 with 2 birdies and 3 pars, fun as heck and well worth the $340, plus $100 for the caddy..can't wait to play the others. Thanks good job on the video…
coach tee shot on #2 maybe my all-time favorite.
That filet divot was so crisp
Beautiful course.
Those energy balls are just incredible. They are definitely one of the reasons to stop at each of the rest stops on each of the courses.
I'll also say that I have been to Bandon maybe five or six times and have, at one time or another, walked away thinking a different course has been my favorite. Old Mac was the first to get that nod. Then it was Bandon. Pacific took its turn after I'd played it a few times. Currently, my favorite has gotten stuck on Trails – it just has everything. I think it's also the course that is easiest to remember all the holes, meaning nearly every one is unique. And I think it and Sheep Ranch share my favorite for opening hole. And Bandon and Trails seem to hold the most appeal for me on their closing holes. Probably nodding toward Bandon – that par 5 is just a fabulous finish into the clubhouse.
