Bryson DeChambeau spoke to the media following his individual win and his Crushers GC team win at LIV Golf Korea. He was asked:
– Take us through your round today and the win.
– Do you have any goals as we look towards the PGA Championship?
Yeah, I want to say first off, I’m proud of these guys for getting the job done. It’s been it’s been a little bit of time and um Chucky and I uh had a great battle out there. Um he never wavered today. It felt like um until 16. Felt like he was just pushing forward and he was going to shoot 1011 under today and I was like my goodness, I don’t know if I could beat that today. But um I was personally pretty nervous on the front nine for whatever reason. And um you know that putt I made on eight was was great. Two putt on nine. Uh after the ninth hole, I don’t know what hit me. I just said, you know what, just play like a kid again. And I started doing that in the back nine and strike the three-wood on 11. Gave me a lot of confidence. Hit a good shot in there on 11. Just didn’t make the putt. 12 great hole. 13 great hole. 14 didn’t make birdie. It’s okay. 15 played a great hole. Uh 16 didn’t make birdie, but I knew something was coming. Um, I didn’t know when it was going to happen and finally on 17 it just it just kind of the bubble burst and I felt really good. And then the drive on 18 hit a perfect drive on 18 and the wind just pumped it off the left. Win the hazard and lucky it stayed up but also kind of unlucky it wasn’t in the middle of the fairway too. So, um, you know, it just kind of evened itself out by the end of it and played some great golf. But all in all, proud of the team as well and proud of the the way I stood fast in there and, uh, incredibly happy with the way, uh, Jibo, my caddy, uh, helped me through today. Yeah, I mean, my goal is to win every tournament that I show up to. Scotty’s on a great run. Walking Neiman’s on a great run. John Rom’s been playing well. There’s a lot of starstudded talent out there right now that’s uh that’s going to be in the PJ championship. So, uh we’re going to be battling it out. Glad to have pushed through in this victory and and won this event. But uh there’s a lot more work to be done this year. There’s three more majors and my eyes are focused on that with all the other live live events. uh doing my absolute best in every single event I show up
