A very good afternoon and a warm welcome to day 2 coverage of the 44th Mikyong Open staged for the 35th time in this championship’s history at formidable Namsul Country Club in Sonam, South [Music] Korea. Let’s get you up to speed with what’s already transpired Friday morning here at Nam Soul. Start with the 2023 champion Chan Min Jung. Big T- shot up the short par four. That right hand side gave him the best angle in trying to attack that whole location. Played a lovely little releasing pitch and Joe with the four under bar. Early doors. That’s just the start he needed. A little bit of trouble for Chadman Jung at the demanding R416 throw. Really out of position there. That was just his fifth shot to get himself on the green. Looking to salvage a double bogey. Really staring at triple bogey in the face, but he’s throws in a beautiful putt. That would move him level through the round. Two under par entering this hole. Costly double bogey. Pushed his T-shot well out to the right. Lost ball. Had to reload. Found the fairway trap. Ultimately leading to a double bogey. Six would make the turn at even bar. Dropped a shot at the opening hole. This was a agonizingly close birdie effort just drifting by the right edge for Chan Jones. He’s one over for his round today. Two under for the championship. And Uang Cho played a solid round yesterday. Four under par at 15th. A short par four up the hill. One over par on his round. Got himself a good opportunity to get back to level par. Agonizingly missing the 30 attempt. [Music] It’s just over the back of the 17. A racy putt here. Scan the hole. Looks good for a long long way, but it refused to drop for Joe after that quick start that Jazz got off to. Couple of bogeies to end his front nine. That was a vital car saving at the 11th for the former Asian Tour Order of Merit Champion. Along in steady fashion, Jazz Jane Watandi’s propped himself onto the first page of the leaderboard, but it’s Scott Vincent who moves into a share of the lead with He-Man Chang and Sona. Look at this. Fabulous from [Applause] He-Man Jazz Jane Watin on who’s sizing up this second shot to the uphill 15th almost a second eagle of the day for Jazz. Beautiful shot there from the tie. We’re forecasting that cut line should be around the two maybe three over par just to keep himself at one. Just a little breathing room with three holes to play. Wiggles it in. And look at that fist pump. I mean, we’re only not even halfway through Friday, but he knows that was so important. Now, Cho underneath the hole on seven. Going to be a slow putt. Moving to his right. Hey, a first birdie of Friday for Hu Yang Ch. And it’s a sigh of relief from the youngster. Gets back to two under par. He’s got a decent lie here. He can be ultra aggressive with this open hole location. Thinks the ball’s going to release just a little bit. Make sure he airs on the right side of this pin. No, lookie lookie. Hu young Joe. That’ll do. Get through 15 holes without a birdie. You can one from long range on the seventh and then you hoop one on the eighth to go back to four under P. Now Jazz, this is not a simple up and down. Oh, what the aerial route. Wonderful shot by Jazz. Sixth hole. This is Hong Kong’s Taiichi Co. Co looking to battle his way into the weekend. A two over bar. This look at this for Taiichi Co. All right, that’s a two on the card. Not an easy up and down. Wuang Cho left himself on the ninth. Yeah, just because of the downhill slope once he gets onto the green one to toss out anchor nicely. William Joe wonderful walked it in. Kevin Na what a finish to the round for Yang Cho birdie eagle birdie a 70 and a share of the lead hasn’t won since international series Morocco couple of years ago Jane Watanon and he’s in with a shout through 36 holes at the Mong big smile of relief. He didn’t make it easy on himself, but he’s done the hard work and he is going to be safely through weekend action at Nam Soul Country Club. Second shot now to the fifth. Wasn’t put off by that golf cart racing towards him. Oh, look at this. My goodness. That far that close to three eagles in a day for the man known as safe. Now for a birdie at five. Second shot scared the hole. Birdie putt finds its target. Okay, tidy Jeep Buller. Bit of a disappointing finish, but like Jazz will scribble his name next to a 68. Gets into the weekend at four under park. Now back to the first and Teahili. That wasn’t that hard of an up and down. It’s up and in for Tahi Lee who opens his second round with a chip in birdie at the first to move into one underpath. Singuhan makes his residence in Inchan. 17 bars and a birdie on his closing hole yesterday. Okay, it’s only taking him two holes to get off the mark here on day two. That’s a nice three at the second for the man known as Steve. This will come back off the slope. Look at this. Look at this. Excellent from Cumin. Wonderful stuff from Tejo One to not tell you what he’s thinking. Being proud of that [Applause] finishing signaling left. There is trouble there. Where’s this one headed for Son? arm across the cart path and that would be danger. Oh my goodness, the ball moved. Just trying to have a look if he could perhaps move a loose impediment, but that was always going to be risky. Yeah, I think that’s deemed as the player causing the ball to move. [Music] He has looked blocked in with the putter. Tahi Lee scanned the whole pack on the third. Burries it on the fourth. Throwing a chip in birdie at the first as well for Teahi. He goes to 2-1 depart. Our poor old Dian Lee had the worst score on this whole recorded so far this week with an eight this morning. Unfortunately, it’s going to be Son that now holds that unwanted honor. 30 for the Genesis points leader. Well done there. Good to Jun Kim recovers one of the two shots he’s dropped already today. Looks like he just wants to get this on the green. Maybe a yard on. I think with too much speed can easily roll 10 ft by the hole. That’s very well done. That is a superb [Applause] shot. Now an a nice little boost for him. Hear the twink as the ball finds the bottom of the cup there on a nice birdie for an a day that began for Chang at about 6:30 this morning with the restart of his opening round could end in brilliant fashion. That was for a birdie. Never threatened the bottom of the cup. Still not going to hear too many complaints. Starting your week at the Mong Open with a 66 and a 71. Joins Jazz Jane Watanon and Wuang Cho for Dian Hang. a chance to post the low round of the week so far. This for a 65 to grab the outright lead six under bar. Brilliant round of 66 for Doian Huang. And as play comes to its conclusion, our coverage comes towards its end here on Friday. So much to look forward to as we head into the weekend stages of the Miyong Open.
