WILLMAR — The Alexandria girls golf team kept its solid season going on Tuesday by winning a Central Lakes Conference meet at Eagle Creek Golf Course in Willmar.

Alexandria won the team title with a score of 320, led by 2025 Ms. Minnesota golf nominee Rachel Bowen, who earned first place individually.

“This team score matched our season best that we shot at Madden’s Resort last week,” Alexandria head coach Tim Zupfer said. “Typically, Eagle Creek is a little tougher course to score on, so I am pleased with our team score. We had two scores in the 70s again and three scores in the low to mid 80s. It was a mixed bag, with some players having a better front nine and some players having a better back nine.”

Bowen finished her round with five birdies and four pars in her round to finish at 4-over par (76).

“Rachel had an amazing start with birdies on four of her first five holes,” Zupfer said. “She managed to finish the front nine at 1-under par 35. She was very pleased with her iron play and putting.”
