Rory with driver. Going to have to tone this one down a little bit maybe. Well, good thing most of his misses have been to the right. And there’s another one to the right. Oh, that is miles right. Even close to the cart path with his footing there. It looks like that’s the stance he’s going to take. That should land on the right side of the green. Oh, really nice. Wow, what a shot by Rory Mroy. Seriously impressive there. Here’s Mroy coming off birdie the 15th T. That’s one of the better swings Rory has made with the driver. May need to go to get to the fairway. Oh yeah. Oh, it’s great now. The wind has died down just a little bit. this headed to the right side. Trying to avoid those bunkers on the right. That should turn out really nice. Just short of the green here. Here’s his third shot. Yeah, the challenge is there’s a ridge right about where the ball is now. That is really well played. A couple of magnificent shots in a row from Rory. Now back to 15. Here’s Mroyy’s birdie attempt. Big putt to get him to red figures. That’s it. Again, one of the strengths of his game yesterday was put in which has been maybe a little bit off in the last year or so. Yeah. 187 wind helping off the right. I think the line is the left edge of the bunker. Just cannot afford to miss it. Left. I think you’re right, Gary. I think he’s finding it. That was magnificent there. Looked in control of that swing as well, didn’t it? You can feel like this has to go left and I think it’ll go a little bit left, but I think it’s easy to overread it. And there he does it again. We saw it yesterday. They matched each other. And Mroy does the same. Rory really picking up steam here. Let’s go to one. Rory Mroy after making the turn. And that is this ball trying to turn back to the left. And that was a real aggressive line. Oh yeah. 142. Great angle. Well, that looked like a smooth, confident swing there. Take the spin. Take the slope. Nicely done. Rory continuing to just stay in rhythm at this point. Gary not seeing a whole lot of flaws. Rory Mroy surveying his birdie attempt. Rory Mroy from 19 ft. His 430 of the morning so far. And Mroy making a charge. He gets it to three under par. Oh, this looks perfect. Absolutely perfect. It’s a beautiful angle. Not a bad bounce though. Beautiful angle to watch the balance, the speed through the ball, the footwork. Just a hold off shot here. Just hold it up against the breeze. Oh, this a high shot. Trying to turn back towards the hole. This could be really good. Yes, it was. Rory is going through the gears right now. Rory to jump to four under. Okay. Ominous. Now this headed right. I think it should stay in play. Couldn’t tell where that ended up. He carried it all the way up to the right of the green on the fly there. Back at eight. And the challenge is this green cascades from back right to back left. Oh, that’s well played there. Easy to miss this one if you’re just trying to dye it in the hole. He’s back to four under. Back within three of the lead. M Roy, look at the read here. Watch this. You saw the ridge that Phil chipped it down. We thought it was short all the way. That will get there. That looks great. That is a perfect read. Oh, that’s going to be a nice boost. Right on the 4T. 153 yds. I want to see the bounce. Just want to see what happens to this one. Well, that is towering. Oh, it’s fantastic. How about that? Coming down vertically with a little sauce. This one down the hill. Have to be a little careful with this stretch at the last revolution. Mroy two straights. First round is 72 one over par yesterday. Virtuoso all of a sudden he’s at top this leaderboard. The champion here in 2010 and 2015. First job done. Hit the fairway now with a great opportunity with a left hole location. Steady. That will tumble to the bottom at the par five. Seven’s been the easiest hole on the course this week. We’ll go to the par five at seven where Mroy will play third. All right, got it inside 10 feet. Chance for a share of the lead. Mroy at seven to get it to seven. [Applause] He’s joined Woodland at the top. Three par fours over 500 yards. Here’s Rory now at the eighth. You took the words right out of my mouth, Jimmy. Short three short par fives. Rory just going with three. Is it? Mhm. Under the tree for a good angle. Wow. Three would pin high. Ian. Yeah. Got there easily and Rory just about 30 yards to the hole. [Applause] Into the grain. Makes a big difference with chip shots like that as this left for the birdie. Second half of this putt’s going to break a lot to his right. How about [Music] that? Rory Maroy makes his fourth birdie of this first half of the Saturday round. Here comes Rory off this par five. Yep. Still going to fade. Aim it down the right edge of that tree. Oh, this is crushed down the left hand side and coming back. That’s a nice little confidence boost that it’s Oh, clipped the tree. Slight ups slope of a lie. Oops. This is way left. So, I wonder if he tried to draw it and ditch the fade. That’s the worst shot I’ve seen him hit in quite some time. Yeah. M Rory got a drop here at 15 line of sight. Yeah, huge break. He’s actually got some angle and a lot of green to work with here. L is okay. Just had a bit He just had a bit of practice at the hole before. This one’s pretty good. Oh, it’s really good. [Music] 15 now for Broody. Yes. That looked like a four when that thing was snap hooking in the air. All right, that certainly helps take a little of the sting off of the double at 12. And if you’re Mroy, you’ve played two holes very well and you lost a shot to the leader. Same thing, waiting for the fade. It’s coming. I got a nice bounce to the right. just about even there. But in the primary cut, just watch the right shoulder work behind and to the ball as quickly as possible. It’s a great feeling. Imagine your right shoulder gets there, then your arms, then the hands, then the club head. And and you’ll do that every time. It’s guaranteed. Promise you this afternoon. Wow. He wants to make it cuz he can sense throw some pressure on maybe get a two shot swing. So, Mroy to eight under. Look at 101 yards for Rory. That’s left of the flag, which is fine. Had to do that. He wanted a little more out of it, but if it comes up a couple of yards short, it would spin back. This for birdie. [Music] Oh, good. Oh, yes. So, how about that for four and takes the outright lead at nine under par. Now, Rory driver 3wood 5wood makes up his longer end of the bag. Yeah, that’s his fivewood, too. As high as that’s traveled. And I might say Rory’s wife Erica is celebrating her first Mother’s Day. Mom to little Poppy. Beautiful line straight into the wind. That will help. Oh, beautiful shot. See, he flew it up high to carry it across that scoop. Yeah, but way better angle than uh had. Yes, he’s spent some time with Brad Faxton over the week since we’ve last seen him. and and it’s on this stuff that you see it pay off. And Pete Cowan on the swing, of course. Jory Maroy moves to 10 under par with the reachable 15th upcoming. The wind is blowing as hard as it has all day. Downwind. There’s that finish when it’s when it’s hanging. Ballooning. It’s a long way to those bunkers. But oh, and a down slope off that lie. He might try and try a crazy hook and well send it round the back of the bunker. That’s a lot of club in his hand there. Nick Fo of that bunker by enough in it. So he’s going to land it on the down slope. I think this is um actually easier than the bunker shot he had at the last. Well, he’s good. He’s really good at bunker shots. See how he cut that left wrist to crank some extra loft onto that face. How about the bunker shots? He’s hit at 14 and yeah, 15. Back to Rory and for Birdie. That’s a two shot lead with three to play. Four birdies. No bogeies. And he heads to the green mile. for a big ovation and a welcome back. [Applause] The roars have returned in golf and Rory gave a big thank you for Harry Diamond. I think Harry made a diamond decision there. Talked him into that drop rather than going up the hill and who knows what would have happened. [Applause]

I just remember there was a Reddit post about Rory being washed up after a first round 72. His next three rounds were lights-out.
