This is why Shedeur Sanders slid in the 2025 NFL Draft 😳 Sponsored by Hampton by Hilton

So, what really happened to Shador Sanders is that the league viewed him as a backup in this draft. And once you’re viewed as a backup, then there’s an an entirely different angle that the teams are going to view and evaluate you with. So, the the league clearly viewed Shador’s film a certain way, which is there were a lot of flaws in it, and that’s that’s totally fine and fair, and they were there. He he does hold the ball too long and took a lot of sacks that didn’t he didn’t need to take. And part of that I think from a fear perspective from NFL organizations was that he wasn’t processing information quick enough. This is what I was hearing from some of the guys during the draft as I was sending out texts. I was like, man, you know, you tell me, you know, like what’ you see? And they’re like, well, you know, processing, holding the ball, so on so on and so forth. And so it’s like, okay. So now you’re getting past some of these top picks and you’re like this this is what it is. We’re expecting him in the first round and I think everybody is. But then he gets down there and the Browns pass on him twice cuz they went on the clock at two, traded back to five and then didn’t draft him. The Giants go on the clock, don’t draft him. The Saints go on the clock, don’t draft him. The Steelers are the only one left. 21 is the only one left. when the Steelers pass on him and take Derek Harmon. I immediately thought to myself like he’s not going in this in this round. Then the Giants trade back in and you think, “Okay, wow. Okay, what are they doing here?” And they take Jackson Dart. And at that moment, boom, I was like, “He’s not going to get picked for a long time.” This was not, “Hey, is someone else going to jump back in there?” Because now everybody with a quarterback need had already spoken and they had spoken loudly and the other teams at that point are out anyways. just because of their quarterback situation. So once the Giants at 25 trade with the Texans, they come they jump in and they take Jackson Dart, I immediately thought to myself, this is going to be a while. That’s when it’s immediately starting to be like, okay, what’s what’s really happening here? Well, what’s really happening is is that they didn’t view his film as as quite good enough to be like for sure firstrounder starter, maybe even right away in the National Football League. Now, you can disagree or agree with that assertion, but that’s clearly what a lot of these evaluators, in particular the evaluators with quarterback needs, thought. And once the Giants selected Jackson Dart, I knew the Browns aren’t even going to take him in the second round. And once you’re not getting drafted as a starter, then you’re being looked at as a backup.

  1. It had nothing to do with his tape and everything to do with that obnoxious draft watch party. The real world is over narcissists like the sanders and trump.

  2. But Joel, why view him as a backup? Most of those holds were clearly because they had no running game because no oline & he & his WRs had to make things happen in order to win games! No?

Sure..he holds the ball long but you think he does the same if hes at Georgia? His arm talent & processing power were strengths of his…that & his maturity.

  3. Didn’t these NFL owners know Shedeur was so good he had his jersey number retired at his school? Hahaha! 😂

  4. There is absolutely zero possible chance they viewed him as a back up that’s third or fourth in depth chart!!! I could see actual backup but that far down not a chance!!! They purposefully tried to knock him down a peg becusde they thought his confidence was cockiness!!

  5. He slid because he’s not that good and all you morons in the media with your ‘sources’ look dumber than usual!

  6. We know this has a little to do with the pick.. We also know NOBODY can say the truth without getting canceled. Sad

  7. Joel, Rich Eisen, Mel Kiper all lost my respect during the draft when they made it all about one player and didn’t give the proper credit to the other players who were drafted.

  8. The Buffs had 3 receivers drafted. 2 of which were seniors. With will Sheppard signing after the draft. Literally all four starting receivers. I can't remember that happening for any QB draft selection. Where you literally brought your entire receiving crew to the league with you. But yet Sanders is drafted over a 100 selections after Tyler Shough. University of Louisville. Had no receivers drafted. Now i get he definitely has to tone down the arrogance. But can anyone think of a time? where any QB draft recruit and 3 of his starting receivers. All were drafted in the same year. Thats so baffling how thats even possible.

  9. Holds ball too long.

    Makes bad decisions.

    Takes sacks.

    Fails interview.

No team wants to deal with his dad.

    Arrogant with no work ethic.

All of this because his father paved his way for him and removed all obstacles along the way. He never had to work through a problem or a hard time. This happens all the time because parents are afraid to make their kids work and fail.

  10. I thought the NFL coverage did a massive disservice to others drafted in front of him. Talking about him with every pick. It was gross

  11. Yall media F..k's can't even get yall lie together!! Which one is it clown? Is he a back up r his ego r his I.Q is low. The only knock we all heard before the draft was that he held the ball to long. Stop adding SH'T

  12. Don't matter black or white if your still holding ball four seconds .running another four seconds not planting feet your not NFL prospect .Dion sanders should have known this his staff .and NFL you don't really know were your going till called .like it or not .your for football or money .sanders are for money .now everything will back fire .can't call racism .pick teams for your sons get over it

  13. but the videos he showed him holding the ball to long, were all solid completions and 1 was a touchdown, so how is that bad?

  14. Joel I expected better, you know this is a lie. It's wrong what the NFL did to this young man

  15. Some owners had their GM take him completely off of their boards so I don’t see his draft location as an assessment of his physical ability.

  16. I don't think he fell because the league views him as a backup. I think he would've been picked by a team that hasn't been a dumpster fire at QB for decades, and potentially sooner if he were backup material. I think the league views him as a starter, but so many teams have starting QBs, or just drafted 1 or multiple QBs in the last few years.

  17. I have never understood him being viewed as a first rounder. He holds the ball way too long. It was shocking to see him available on Day 3.

  18. You are a former CU Buff. I'm disappointed in you. All 2024 every mock draft had Shedeur Top 3 to Top 5. Just stop We don't believe that.

  19. There definitely was that backup, beep, beep, beeping for many coaches, GMs and owners! 😅 Ego and self awareness interplay wasn't, there?

  20. To me he’s just not that good a player. I watched a lot of his college games and I felt he was not very impressive, maybe a little better than the average college quarterback. Not a strong pro prospect.

  21. Teams clearly didn’t want him early for whatever reason so why does ANYONE care? Conspiracies, racism etc etc blah blah blah the NFL cares about one thing WINNING obviously they didn’t feel he was worth the pick
