Graeme McDowell Reacts To Royal Portrush Naming Hole After Him

Graeme McDowell spoke to the media alongside his Smash GC teammates ahead of LIV Golf Singapore, where he was asked:

– What does it mean to have Portrush name a hole after you?

yeah I mean that was uh obviously a great honor uh there’s 36 holes in Port Rush uh you have the dloo course which is the championship course and the valley course which is kind of the course I grew up on so um when they redid the D loose for the Open Championship at 19 they took a couple of holes off the valley course to to rebuild two holes and then the valley course has had a complete redo by the RNA um so they actually picked one of the holes um on the on the new redo on the valley course to to name after me so that was obviously a great honor figured had to be dead to do that stuff but uh you know I don’t think I’m dead yet um but now listen obviously huge honor very very proud uh for me and my family you know the you know the valley courses kind of where I you know learned the game uh fell in love with the game of golf and uh you know I haven’t been back over there to see uh the redo yet um maybe get a chance in the next couple months but uh yeah really cool obviously uh huge honor
