Let’s be honest, finding the perfect balance between forgiveness and performance in golf irons is tough. But these new Ping G440 irons might just be the unicorn us mere mortals have been searching for. First off, looks. These clubs are absolutely gorgeous with a thinner top line than you’d expect from game improvement irons. And they’ve somehow managed to hide all that technology behind a very clean look. The G440s have a pure flex frame that creates a trampoline effect, adding ball speed and forgiveness. And there’s tons of perimeter waiting in the toe and near the sole to bail us out on those mishits we inevitably make. I broke a personal record on course with these irons because they have insane distance. My four iron flew 242 yards. It was downwind a bit, but that’s basically my 3-wood territory. And don’t get me started on forgiveness. These are best in class. What surprised me the most was the workability. These clubs can be shaped nearly as good as players irons. The only knocks I’d give these clubs is that as game improvement irons, they’re going to have a bigger form factor. And when it comes to price, these aren’t cheap. At $170 per club with a steel shaft, that’s pretty wallet draining. But Ping irons do hold their value unlike any other. And for the performance they’re going to offer, I can safely say it’s worth it. Bottom line, Ping has created something special here. Easily the best game improvements I’ve tested so far in 2025. But will they find a spot in my bag? That video is coming soon, so follow Let’s Play through so you don’t miss a

  1. These Pings are great irons, but the Mizuno Jpx925 hot metal & the Pxg Black Ops irons are contenders as well! 👍🏻

  2. Everything is so forgiving now I broke 70 with a set of TaylorMade Z790's. I used to shoot 135 with my Wilson staffs that I got at goodwill but I couldn't miss with the new technology. My wife even left her date with her boyfriend to come give me a high-five at the clubhouse but I think if I get the ping gx650s than I'll gain 4 inches on my wiener and drop 8 strokes to join the PGA 🎉😮❤😮

  3. Personally they feel heavy and chunky in the hands im not a fan of the looks or feel of the ball off the face not worth their price

  4. Game improvement irons do the opposite, they create game stagnation and are designed for beginners, or casual golfers who are not concerned with feel or getting better at ball striking. That much offset will not allow development of a proper swing path, with a good swing path you will produce a low hook, I.e every shot seen here. This is a paid Ad. the hardest to hit, smallest blades you can possibly find are the real game improvement irons. Once you get decent with those, you will hit dimes with normal clubs.
