President Trump’s physician said the 78-year-old Republican is in ‘excellent health’ and has lost 20 pounds since his last checkup in 2020 due to his ‘active lifestyle’.

Donald Trump’s medical report has revealed how he cited his alleged “golfing victories” as proof of his fitness to hold office.
The US President’s annual check-up showed he had shed an impressive 20 pounds since his last examination in 2020. However, buried in the document, which declared Trump “fully fit” to serve as commander-in-chief, was a boast about his prowess on the golf course.
His doctor, Navy Capt. Sean Barbabella, noted that Trump’s days are filled with meetings, public appearances, media availabilities – and “frequent victories in golf events.” Trump, an avid fairway prowler, recently claimed the top spot at a tournament in Florida. But he has also been accused in the past of ‘cheating’. This comes as Trump’s ‘real height’ has been detailed in a recently released medical report.

The soon-to-be 79 year-old, celebrating his birthday on June 14, now tips the scales at 224 pounds. His waistline puts his body mass index at 28.0, knocking him back from ‘obese’ to merely ‘overweight’. A three-page lowdown on Friday’s thorough health check crowns Trump as “fully fit to execute the duties of Commander-in-Chief and Head of State.”
The summary noted that Trump previously had cataract surgery on both eyes, but gave no date or dates. In July 2024, a report revealed that then-candidate Trump underwent a colonoscopy, which detected a benign polyp and the condition known as diverticulosis.
This common condition causes the walls of the intestine to weaken with age, potentially leading to inflammation, though most individuals with it don’t experience any issues.

Trump also successfully completed a Montreal Cognitive Assessment test, according to Barbabella. This brief screening test evaluates various brain functions, including memory recall and listening skills. This is the same test, known as MoCA, that Trump took in 2018. He later recounted his experience in an interview, describing how he recited a list of words in sequence: “Person. Woman. Man. Camera. TV.”
The president was also screened for depression and anxiety on Friday, scoring within the normal range on questionnaires for these conditions, as per the report. When questioned about the exam on Sunday and his health maintenance strategies, Trump responded, “I enjoy what I’m doing and I like the results.
“I think we’re making America great again and it makes me feel good. It probably keeps me happy,” he shared with reporters on a return flight to Washington from Florida. While Trump may be the oldest individual elected to the nation’s highest office, he is four years younger than Democrat Joe Biden, who was 82 when his presidential term concluded in January.
Despite frequently questioning Biden’s physical and mental abilities, Trump has often kept his own health details under wraps, a departure from the usual transparency shown by presidents from both parties. Presidents are entitled to keep their medical information confidential.
However, releasing the results of annual physicals can reassure the public about their president’s health. In his memo, Barbabella stated that Trump is in “excellent health” with “robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function.”
