Oake Manor Golf Club’s 2025 Sam Loader Cup saw 40 teams of four compete in a closely contested tournament on Saturday, April 19.

The day’s golfing action featured two shotgun starts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

Emerging victorious with 87 points was the team of Martin Rayson, Ryan Warfield, Simon Dyke, and Tim Dyke.

Their consistent play and strong teamwork throughout the day earned them the top spot.

Hot on their heels with 86 points were Michael Osguthorpe, Martin Rivers, Mark Tydings, and Andrew Thompson, who claimed the second spot.

Third place went to Jamie Tong, Mark Popham, Jack Jones, and Richard Barker, finishing with 85 points.

The top six teams were separated by just four points, illustrating how competitive the day was.

Daniel White, Martin Adams, Owen Irish, and James Symonds finished fourth with 84 points, while Simon Molloy, Jamie Bidiscombe, Oliver Beynon, and Sam Prior also scored 84 points, placing them fifth.

Stuart Coleman, Matthew Durbin, Phillip Coleman, and Callum Foster wrapped up the top six with 83 points.

Several hundreds of pounds were raised for Papyrus UK, a charity dedicated to the prevention of suicide and the promotion of positive mental health in young people.

A spokesperson for Oake Manor Golf Club said: “A big congratulations to all the players involved for making it a memorable day of golf.”

Mary Beakes came third with 32 points.

Barry Roberts claimed victory in the Monday Bank Holiday Stableford Competition, winning division two with 38 points.

Nathaniel Pepperell won division one with a score of 36 points.

In the Ladies’ Tuesday Medal Competition on Tuesday, April 22, Kathryn Salway won division one with a nett score of 74.

Pam Kinnear took the win in division two with a nett 77.

Jack Jones emerged as the winner of the Wednesday Midweek Stableford Competition, scoring 38 points in division one.

Andrew Avis finished a close second, also with 38 points, but lost on countback.

In division two, Owaine Bird claimed victory with 37 points.
