  1. My only concerns were reaching for the wide receiver and losing picks. But I really think the last pick might surprise.

  2. It’s a C- / D

They reached on a lot of players . Just feels like a lot of talent was left on the board .

Smith might have very well went undrafted idk … we’ll see

  3. Just like last year, it wasn't a sexy draft. They addressed roster weaknesses and needs, and we now have a solid offensive line for the next handful of years. Solve the rest of the roster through trades/free agency/development in skill positions, and the building blocks are already there. Can't put the cart before the horse.

  4. Ian you’re always my go to for jets draft analysis. Thank you for all the hard work my dude. Feels like you’ve been doing this forever now.

  5. Best T/TE combo in the draft this year. After that it's a crap shoot and we'll see what happens this season

  6. My personal grades for each pick. Overal: B

Membou: A-, i cant hate the pick because we do get a starter with high upside. Could be the RT of the future. Its a great pick. My personal pick was Warren but Membou is a great player who can start day 1. Hes a little raw but on paper he should be the starting RT. But im excited to see MembOlu on the opposite sides of each other.

Taylor: B, Again i cant hate the pick because we should have our starting TE. He's a solid TE. Only reason im not too high on it is because he was my TE5 and thought there were better TEs out there personally. But again i cant hate the pick. He's a solid prospect that could start day 1. If we factor in the Tyson from LTJ deal i made with him though, its an A+ lol

Thomas: A, This is my favorite pick of the draft. Youre getting a 1st round talent in the 3rd round? And he doesnt have an injury history? Thats a steal. Depending on what they do with Stephens, could atart day 1

Smith: C, My least favorite pick just because of the value. I thought he was a 6-7th rounder. And almost every pick after us in Round 4 i wouldve preferred over him. But if he can fix the drop issues, with that track speed maybe he can be a steal.

Moore: A, perfect spot where we drafted him. Leader, high energy, high character, a great player who again, depending on what the plan is with Stephens, could start day 1. We needed a safety badly. I think we got arguably the best one available where we drafted him.

Kiki: B-, I like the player. I might like him a little more than others. But i do think its a little high. But i like it better than the Smith pick because i do believe there might have been a chance we could've missed him without the trade up if the regime really wanted him. So im not as critical of this one. Again, high character, high energy guy. You need those when you want to rebuild a culture.

Baron: B+, I like the player. Think thats a good spot to get him. And we needed Edge depth with Jermaine coming off that achilles. Thats a good rotational/backup edge rusher to have.

Its a B. Im not too hyped about it or upset by it. But im happy. And maybe thats the key. There have been times ive praised draft classes like Joe D and have been heavily critical of classes like McCagganan and its resulted in nothing. So maybe this is the way to do it.

I like the picks of Membou, Thomas, and Moore

Im a little iffy on Smith and Kiko.

But maybe its the way to get back to winning. All in all, cant complain. Lets go Jets!

  7. I think this is a three year project. This is stage 1. This going to be the Fields test. If he falters 2026 will be about the qb. Grade A and if Fields works out it will become an A+. Hopefully the playoffs next year.

  8. Could have had Warren and Ersery over Membu and Taylor. That would have been superior imo. Not getting a DT in a rich DT class is insane, especially when it was our greatest need. How will we stop the run in a league going back to the run — the smart teams loaded up.

Drafted an injury concern WR, 3 rounds to early when could have worked the board and picked up a few more picks this year and next year in a much stronger class. Then Mougie used injuries as a reason for not getting a DT. Which is it? Buffalo outworked the Jets 3 times to boot. D+

  9. I give it a B. One thing I really don't like is how much AG kept name dropping players on the lions that were all first round picks when talking about our draft picks, Sewell, Brian branch, Jameson Williams, like don't compare Arian Smith to jamo please, I get the idea is to use them all in the same capacity but those guys were all blue chips, it feels like I'm being sold a bill of goods.
On the contrary at least it feels like they have a plan for the players they took, even on day 3.
Also, and I can't decide if this is good or bad but it looks to me the way they made their draft board was by narrowing players at positions of need that fit their scheme specifically trying to fill holes rather than just drafting best available. Almost as an extension of free agency. Not sure how that will pan out in the long run.
And lastly, and this just conspiracy here but the fact they took 2 of the most popularly mocked players with the first 2 picks, and he was still in the war room and got on the phone, makes me worry woody is still pulling strings.

  10. The lineman theory is only good if they preform up to expectations and stay healthy. I wanted Loveland but I’m happy with Taylor.

  11. Ideally, we could have picked up Smith in the 5th round. But if they were high on him, and he corrects the drops he may end being a steal. As always, time will tell.

  12. No grades from me…. i'm just gonna wait & see what the performance is for this team when they get between the lines…. I've been suffering to too long to keep coming back to this well over & over again
i do respect your grade for this draft & it sounds about right

  13. Was fun following along with the stream. Your brother did a good job too. Any chance at doing a live stream for one or two games this season?

  14. Two consecutive times, in rounds 3 and 4, the Buffalo Bills jumped ahead of us. I honestly believe the Jets were about to select Defensive Tackle Deone Walker from Kentucky, at 110, before those bastards came in at 109 and selected him. The Jets then selected Darius Smith the wide receiver from Alabama. Overall I still give the Jets an overall B grade. Would have been an A, if they selected a defensive tackle in a defensive tackle rich draft. Getting corner back Azareye'h Thomas in the 3rd round, and trading for Safety Malachi Moore in the 4th round, were great value picks, that will pay dividends in the years to come.

  15. I could totally see how they are trying to copy exactly the Lions blueprint. Solid O line, Smith is basically Jameson Williams with worse hands. I do like the fact that from now on, we probably won’t have to draft Oline in the first round anymore and just focus on skill players on offense and defensive players.

  16. Draft grade – D
Loveland & Ersay or Tet & Ersay is FAR superior to Membou & Taylor.
Taylor is mid. Nothing exceptional including production. Nice to have a famous father.
Thomas was the only player who represented good solid vakue at pick position.
Smith is a disaster pick. A collosal reach for a track star who have proven he cant play football.
The rest of the lot are project special teamers at best.
Glenn and Mougey picked traits, characteristics, and potential upside over actually taking the best player available.
Draft grade – D. Until proven otherwise

  17. LETS BE HONEST aaron rogers iIS THE ONLY REASON MALACHI CORELY DIDNT PLAY 100 FACTS MC GONNA BE A BEAST

  18. I loved the first pick but then disliked all the other picks after that, hopefully they change my mind

  19. I can't get past the Smith pick, especially with Royals on the board. I get BPA but the team needed a DT, WR or even an edge more than a CB that may not see the field on a regular basis until next year. BPA is great when you don't have a ton of needs but unfortunately they do and I don't think they used their draft capital as productively as they could have. That being said the Jets front office is far more qualified obviously so my opinion can be completely wrong. I'd give this class a C or C-.

  20. It's wild the reactions to Smith. Take 5m and Google 2023 draft grades for Puka Nacua. C. C-. B-. Reach. If he becomes a serviceable 3 and helps as a gunner, we'll take that all day at 110. Let's wait and see.

  21. Man, some of our fans are like females in menstruation. They only thing they do is complain. Let's just wait and see. None of us are in the scouting, coaching, and management staff. Nobody knows how these players are going to turn out. Some of them might miss or some of them may become starts or superstars. We just don't know to many factors are involved. I love my Jets, and I'm very hopeful that we are going in the right direction. GO J.E.T.S JETS JETS JETS. The reason I really enjoy your channel is that you are a straight shooter and you do your homework. You talked with knowledge.

  22. After fixing the O-line, Mason Taylor was good. But the team needed more wideouts. I just want to see a more dynamic high scoring offense. I can’t remember when the Jets was scoring over 24 points per game.

  23. Like the first 3 rounds and the db from bama but we should’ve got dline somewhere. Need a free agent and either coop or Allen at receiver

  24. C+ overall. While watching the draft, saw a lot of highlights from '22 and '23. Then the post round 1 comments by Connor Hughes "You can survive a line with 4 solid pieces and plug in a vet signed next week or drafted in middle rounds" got me thinking. (For the record, Connor added why he liked the pick) If we were to do the same with FA, there's Okorafor and what he did in PITT while playing RT. Some can't just switch sides and find success. If the Jets did what Connor said and let them duke it out for the starting RT gig, Jets could've moved RT to the level of need similar to CB. Maybe Tet then Taylor instead. Secondly, how do have THAT deep of a draft at DT and not get one? Flipside to that is after the draft, there are still some quality DT's available in the UDFA pool to fill rolls. Lastly, to draft a WR in the 4th round with grades ranging from 6th round to undrafted who's short, frail, laundry list of injuries and surgeries, and a Drop% rate that makes him say to Lazard "Hold my beer…. No, really, please hold it, I might drop it." Too high for a punt gunner. What stops this draft from being worse overall, is the quality of players in the first 4 rounds (except for Smith of course) Arguably the best OT who's only real knock was he was a RT not LT. A great option at TE in the 2nd. And (imo) 2 starters in the secondary. So overall, an okay draft.

  25. Pre-Draft, Gruden said he was his sleeper WR in the entire draft! He’s going to open the field right up.

  26. I can't grade the Jets quite yet. We need to see what the plan is for the interesting draft we just had. Let's trust the new regime has a good plan; fingers crossed.

  27. Optimistic but I need to see it on the field these guys are not proven and NY don't give you time to develop but I'm happy with our choices.

  28. If Arian Smith can overcome his drop problem, he would make this an A draft. One thing is that "speed cannot be coached."

  29. Too much of a positive spin on receiver Smith. Yeah- he is very fast but he drops too many passes. We already have Lazard to do that.

  30. This draft fell apart for me beginning with Round 3:

    1. Thomas is too slow to play man-to-man against NFL receivers, who will burn him deep.

    2. Even if I believed Thomas could somehow succeed despite his lack of speed, the choice subsequently trade up and draft Moore means we're not moving Stephens to safety, which means we wasted a bundle of money on him in the offseason.

    3. While I appreciate Arian's speed, he's a flawed receiver and could have been drafted much later. In fact, if the Jets really wanted Moore, they could have simply drafted him with the pick they used on Arian, then picked up Arian later, saving themselves the draft pick they wasted to trade up and grab Moore.

    4. And don't even get me started on drafting Arian over Elic Ayomanor – who's a legitimate WR2 and was just waiting to be selected by the Jets at pick #110.

    5. Same goes for Francisco Mauigoa. Nobody was drafting this guy in the first 250 picks. They could have easily taken their EDGE here instead of waiting and then wasting further draft capital to trade up for Baron later.

Just a very poorly executed draft strategy.

  31. Not a huge fan of this draft. I like the first two picks but they draft a db that’s probably not gonna start in rd 3 and a WR that can’t catch in rd 4. The jets could have drafted a better WR an a DT that could be ready to contribute day 1. My grade is a C.

  32. I'm really confused why people like Mason Taylor, there is nothing special about him. We could have waited and grabbed Fannin Jr. later in the draft who has wayyyyyyyy more potential. We grabbed no legitimate WR and we did not address the D-Line. Although I like the Membou, Thomas and Moore picks the rest of the class to me is extremely underwhelming. There was some really good WR talent available late in the draft and we instead settled for Smith! Really?! This is a C- draft to me, I pray that I'm wrong.
