I bought p790s on OfferUp and they were brand new so I was fuckin excited for them. I went to golf galaxy today for the hole in one challenge they got going on. I asked the worker if he can just make sure they’re real and he said they’re fake 🤦🏻‍♂️ my question is should I still play them for now because I’ve still been hitting them good and they feel good too.

What’s your other option? Have them sit in a garage and get new clubs? You surely wouldn’t try to sell them off as real yourself would you?

The thing about fakes is that usually the spin rate is about 2/3 of what it should be. The grooves are low quality and the center of gravity is usually inconsistent. The materials usually aren’t what they’re advertised to be too, so it can affect distance and forgiveness some.

All that said, if you play them fine and don’t notice any problems…. I don’t think there’s any shame in gaming them.

If they work good for you at the end of the day that’s all that matters. Try and get your money back of course but no one will care if they are fake all they will care about is how well you hit the ball

Bro air him out. What is the sellers name or account or any info, that’s a start. This is very much punishable and can be taken to court for wire fraud which is a federal crime. They even have direct examples of this on the justice.gov website. Stand up for yourself and fuck the scammers

There’s a few videos on YouTube about fake P790 being just as good as the real thing, at our level I doubt you’d ever feel the difference

My brother, unknowingly, bought knock-off Callaway clubs 10 years ago as his first set of clubs. Same as you, an employee at a golf shop (Roger Dunn) told his they’re fake. He said “fuck it” and played with them. He broke 90 years later with them.

Your fakes won’t be as good as the real thing, but they aren’t garbage.

Contact the seller for a refund. If he says no, I’m sure ChatGPT can whip up a scary legal threat.

If you hit them good, who g.a.f. If they’re real? Unless you tell people, no one will likely ever know.

  9. How good are you? If you’re a 15 hncp, these will be great. If you’re scratch your night be able to tell a difference

When buying golf equipment on the secondary market you have to know what are knockoffs and to good to be true products. Buying brand new clubs on the secondary site is sketchy. Buyer beware.

Rancho Cucamonga should’ve been your first hint. Near Fontucky correct?

I actually bought a set of these off of Ali Express on purpose! They work absolutely fine. I’m about an 8-10 Handicap. Usually shoot low 80’s and I can’t tell a difference. Unless you’re a scratch golfer I would give them a shot. Not sure what you paid but mine were only $250… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Very fake. Please return them. You can’t copy the construction of modern clubs. They will break very soon. Plus it’s a 130 gram shaft. The heaviest thing available. Not the stock shaft.

  14. You were defrauded. Even if you want to keep them I would contact OfferUp and dispute the transaction as such.

Even if they’re fake, probably coming from Asia, that’s still where most clubs are manufactured anyways. I bought a Vokey SM7 60degree wedge a few years ago from like Ali baba or something, still use it and it works perfectly for $60

If u can play well with them, might as well keep
