LEWISTON, Idaho — The L-C Warriors golf teams returned from the Cascade Conference Championships with commendable performances. The men’s team secured a second-place finish, with Coach Zach Anderson being named Men’s Golf Coach of the Year. This marks Anderson’s second time receiving the honor. Three players from the team earned All-Conference accolades, including Alex Navarro and Oscar Behle, who both received their second All-CCC honors. Lucas Ortega, in his first year, also received recognition. Navarro tied for second place in the tournament, while Ortega finished in fifth.
Coach Anderson specifically acknowledged seniors Navarro and Behle as they conclude their careers with LC State.
On the women’s side, standout player Isabella Barquet finished in the top ten, leading the team to a third-place finish overall. Barquet earned All-Conference honors with her performance, carding a 6-over-par to close the tournament. Following her were Chase Caruso, Julia Belfon-Talee, and Dallas Shockey.
Coach Anderson praised the women’s team for their strong performance against tough competition but noted that their season-long struggle with inconsistency prevented them from securing the trophy. With no departing seniors, Anderson expressed excitement for the team’s potential improvement next year.
