Wilson makes some incredible golf balls. This is their flagship two piece model. There are many lovers of the Wilson Duo, but does adding a 360 alignment aid add anything to this 37 compression marshmallow? Let’s find out.

  1. Got some of these a month ago. Wanted to love them. Like the alignment aide but the ball feels horrible. Much better balls out there even at this price point.

  2. Being a higher handicap player I don’t mind the forgiveness and distant. The alignment tool should help with putting.

  3. Figures it would rely on a strong decent angle to hold the greens, but looking back through that doesn't seem to be there. Weird choice from Wilson.

  4. I’m really disappointed with the results from this ball. I played last years model a bit last season and liked it. I got a good deal on some over the winter and bought 6 dozen (again, last year’s model). Any idea if it’s just poor “improvements” on the new model, or did previous versions of this ball have similar results? I do swing my driver about 85mph, and am more concerned with accuracy over distance.

  5. I like the 360/strip. I kind of wish Taylormade would put the strip on all their balls as an option online or something like that. At the new price its only a little more for the TP5 Stripe. Always enjoy the info.

  6. Harsh comments on this thread so far!! Geez people, drink some morning caffeine and quit the grumps!! 😂

There are other 2 piece golf options, but this is DESIGNED to be the lowest compression. It sells the soft feel and delivered. There are disadvantages to being sub-40 compression. I like the Duo Soft, but only on sale and I accept its limitations. I have found the same as the results here as far as the durability, but getting through an entire round won't be hard for this golf ball. If you are not a slower swing speed, this is not going to be your dimpled jive.

  7. The Duo used to cost $15.99. It’s not a bad ball for a new player. But if you’re any sort of a regular golfer, you’re not going to choose this ball. This ball is a mush ball, that flies low, and has no spin at all. It’s not a quality ball. And now that it’s $22 a dozen, that takes it out of budget golf. On Amazon Prime days, I got the Legato ball for $24 a dozen. Wilson needs to do some more work on this ball for sure.

  8. Damn was hoping this ball would perform better. Guess I’ll just have to stick with the Boost, Tour Velocity, Triad, and Staff models I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. I think for a ball with that low spin it needs to have higher launch to compensate for roll out

But considering how low the compression is, I feel like the roll out characteristics are intentional. It's very much is distance at all cost for the lowest swing speed golfers.

  10. most green we play in nz are soft, except maybe a competition when they are freshly rolled, you can hold greens easily with any straight low spinning ball, i think far too much weighting is placed on "Spin". I have used these before, i would say they are very straight, high launch, great for putting, not very durable, however they are value for money

  11. Good review. From the test standards you use I agree with your results. With my driver swing at my new and improved 65MPH the ball works well for me. With my swing speed no ball I have tried sticks to a green and I have tried the balls you have tested. Balls over 50 compression hurt my body so soft balls work for me. Again do to my slow swing the only ball that has damage so far went 60 yards down a cart path. The Track360 works great for myself. For me the perfect driver or iron strike feels great. I agree with your results that golfers with high swing speed, 75MPH and above, this is not the ball for most of them. It works well with my ability. Again great review.

  12. I look forward to finding one in the bushes at my local course so that I can try it out. Otherwise, sticking with the Callaway Supersoft.

  13. I am not a fan of the 360 alignment aids personally, when hitting driver/wood/irons it just seems to be a big distraction, and I personally don't need or use an alignment aid on a golf ball for putting.

  14. while i normally play a ProV1, TP5, Tour Response.. I have some of the Wilson Duo's that i got cheap 6 doz for 70.. and I use them when it's early spring or late fall.. when the course might be wet and the greens are rolling slow. And it doesn't sting when you loose one lol. I will say, i used these before mid summer 2 years ago, and i was playing on a course that had average speed greens, and if i was off the green chipping onto the green, it was tough to get the ball to stop rolling lol.

  15. Weekend Tour Pro channel did a review of the basic Duo Soft. Same results as your data, except he spun it as a lower penetrating ball flight that is preferred by many tour pros. Failed to mention tour pros can spin a ball a ridiculous amount. He must be getting paid! Thanks for the honesty on your channel. Link if anyone wants to see it…

  16. I play the orange version of this ball, my club has diabolical rough just after the first cut and I lose 3 or 4 white balls per round. Finding the ball is more important than the spin I get from a Bridgestone tour B, especially to my score. You get used to the lack of spin and adjust your landing spot accordingly.

  17. I love Wilson. Pound for Pound probably my favorite overall golf brand. This ball is a hard pass. Maybe I'll tell my great great great grandpa he can play it

  18. Well this 85mph swing speed was hoping this had more promise. I appreciate the color options but for now, Boost is still the Wilson ball for me. Thanks GBA!
