Kai Trump did not have a successful outing at the Junior Invitational at Sage Valley.
The 17-year-old Trump is the granddaughter of President Donald Trump and is an avid golfer, with the teenager often spotted on the links with her grandfather. The younger Trump has talent, as she was invited to compete at Sage Valley alongside 24 of the best young female golfers in the world, showing just how skilled she is.
However, the teenager left much to be desired as she had a tough showing at the Junior Invitational against the best the world had to offer, including Charlie Woods in the boy’s tournament.

She finished her final round 17-over, shooting 89 and finished the tournament at 52-over, with rounds of 89-79-83-89, which puts her dead last among the field. Of note, her score was almost double the score of the next closest competitor, as the No. 151 ranked girls golfer in Florida struggled mightily.
Trump’s struggles in her final round at Sage Valley come days after the teenager struggled at the beginning of the tournament, dropping 17 shots on the final 13 holes in her first round. What’s more, Trump’s failure to find any consistency comes after PGA Tour star Rory McIlroy seemingly complimented her on her game.
At a charity event to raise funds for those affected by the California wildfires, McIlroy and Trump played a round at Torrey Pines. Afterward, the teenager posted the video on her YouTube channel, which included a clip of her hitting a shot from the rough to the green, which the Northern Irish star admitted was a good shot.

“Good shot, Kai,” the 35-year-old star said. “You’re too good for this YouTube golf.” Trump cheekily answered back: “Honestly, I think that’s what it is. I’m just too good.” Trump is one of the more recognizable faces on that side of the social media network, garnering over 1 million subscribers in months.
However, McIlroy made it clear in the past that he is not a fan of golf on YouTube, stating he prefers watching actual golfers. “They found a niche and it’s really cool and it serves a purpose for a lot of people. But look, I would much rather sit down and watch real golfers play real tournaments and that’s just my opinion,” the star said.
“That to me is more entertaining… But I understand that other people want something different and that’s totally fine as well. I think there’s space for all of this. Yeah, I can see when the golf consumer might get a little fatigued of everything that’s sort of available to them.”

Although Trump did not get the result she wanted, she has an exceptional resource to help her bounce back in Tiger Woods. It was recently revealed that Woods was dating Kai’s mother, Vanessa, in a bombshell story that rocked the golf world, with their relationship reportedly starting in late 2024.
Woods has two children, Sam, 17, and Charlie, 16, and the two reportedly have signed off on the relationship between the golf legend and Kai’s mother. “She likes the kids; they like her,” an insder close to Woods told The Daily Mail. “So there was really no reason for any drama with Elin. it was more of a call so she didn’t learn about it in the news.”
