In this Omega “Look Back in Time” segment, Rory reflects on the approach he hit into the final hole of the 2023 Genesis Scottish Open and shows just how he was able to pull off that amazing 2-iron stinger. However, since 2-irons aren’t what the average golfer is going to hit in that scenario, Rory answers a question from a GolfPass member on the keys to making solid contact with a 3-wood.

  1. I enjoyed this video but I thought there would be more "How" explained. The "how" section was about 5 seconds long. For the long iron, he mentioned 'standing taller', would be nice to know "how" an average player does that correctly. It's a bit vague. He also mentions keeping his right side higher. Not sure what that means or how to do it compared to a standard swing. The 3-wood was a bit better, at least there was the tip of trying to keep the head more steady/level. Most golfers could probably manage that by focusing on it.
I'm not trying to be too critical but you've got one of the greats with you and didn't really get much useful info.
I'm also not blaming Rory, he probably doesn't remember a time that he couldn't stripe a 2-iron. I just think the host's (Chris) job is to be "our" representative in getting useful info.
Nice story time though. Enjoyed the re-creation and recollection of his birdie win.

  2. Bryson (yes he is longer hitter, compete in lond drive but Rory is the best driver) I love Bryson but his "5iron" has loft of 2-Bryson hit good shot: oh did you see it,was it good, was it really that good😅 again love to watch his golf channel but has a need to be best driver, he was in like 2021 but overall Rory is without much doubt the best
