  1. Currently playing TM M6 irons and considering Takomo as replacements. I’m a senior golfer, high handicap player (18) and your reviews provide good information. 101 or 101T for me. Cheers from Charleston!

  2. I used Titleist DCIs for a million years and changed to the 201s just before Xmas. I still need to get them loft and lied but they feel very similar to the DCIs on centre face strikes. Jury is still out on the forgiveness. Need a few more rounds. I love the look of these more than the other Takomo irons though. Way more positives than negatives. The lamkin grips are superb.

  3. What ?!?! James you did not say they were ok , you did your usual over the top “ best irons I’ve ever tested “ nonsense 😂 . Everyone can find great irons from Takomo , you can’t go wrong for the money . The 301 cb’s are probably my favourite irons over the last 5 years

  4. Not hating but aren’t these made in China with a super soft and cheap alloy? Is that how they are able to sell them at such a low price?

  5. I would consider trying the 201s to try something in the smaller CB style. Feel the 101ts are similar to what I already have

  6. I've been playing the 201's since the end of last season. I absolutely love them, even as I've been getting used to them going from Callaway.

  7. I just got these about a month ago and have only hit them once on the sim while being very rusty because of winter here in NY. But the courses are opening up now and im playing Thursday, i hope i like them as much as I expect to!

  8. Im pretty sure i saw that Grant is using the skyforger wedges as well, but I could be misinformed there. He definitely still uses the TM driver and woods and the LAB though.

  9. Have not went this route yet, but enjoy a solid forged TM club like P7MC. Waiting to see what TM puts out next or trying a set of Mizunos honestly. Just trust brand with a longer track record.

  10. Anyone who plays blades in the 2020s is leaving shots on the course! Unless you have a plus handicap and play multiple times a week, blades are completely pointless! Get something forgiving and play the best golf of your life!

  11. I’ve had my 201’s for about a month now and love them! Took a while to come as didn’t have standard lies, grips and length. £673 delivered

  12. The 201s are finally getting the love they deserve due to Grant Horvat playing them. They are the equivalent to the Ping i230s which is a great iron for a wide range of golfer

  13. The only reason I didn’t buy the 201 is due to that weird triangle thing on the back. They also look a little square, which I don’t prefer. I don’t know why that bugs me. But irons that are 32 degrees on a 7 iron is really what I should be using for my game. Functionally, I’m sure the 201s are good. I use the 301 Combo set. It would be nice if they had a 201 v2 that was a little smaller than the current 201, had the little slot in the back, and maybe a little rounder. Anyway, that’s what I would create if I could.

  14. I have a set of 101s, they were pretty good, they got kicked out of my bag by the Srixon ZX5 and it wasn't really close, the Srixons feel so much softer and smoother.

  15. I’ve been playing 201’s since January 2024 with in 6 months of using them I won our club hcp championship . Fantastic clubs and the most underrated and least talked about clubs in the Takomo sets of clubs . James you need to do a head to head against your 301s.🙏😉

  16. Had the 201 irons and really enjoyed them. Convinced me that players style cavity backs were the right choice for my game. Top line looks on the short irons ultimately were too much of a turn off to me; especially the PW. Looking forward to see what Takomo does for the next revisions. Hoping for better shaped top lines and a bit more refined look. If you want to see how forged irons feel and perform then these are a great choice.

  17. Between online information and emailing the crew at Takomo to discuss my game, I chose the 201s. So far, so good. I appreciate the value for money with this product.

  18. I used the 101's for over a year and they helped me consistently shoot in the 90's. How ever I noticed I couldnt get a consistent flight out of them and really fought turning them over too much, my thought was maybe too much offset. I have had the 201's for about a month and they are super straight and really soft. They do hurt you more on fat shots but other than that my shot accuracy has shrunk by 1/2. Im hoping these help me stay in the 80's for me in the future.

  19. I had my 201s delofted to a 34 degree 7, and 4 degrees up or down from there. Very similar to my P7MCs that I played before

  20. Currently gaming the 2020 P770s currently stuck between the 101ts or the 201s to purchase for the bag. Would you say the 101ts are similar to the p790s and the 201s to P770s?

  21. I have played the 201's since last July 2024, and they helped me go from shooting 100's to mid to low 80's. I intentionally went to the smaller face profile to increase my ball contact, and the 201's give me good feedback when I miss-hit them. The only problems I have had are with 2 graphite shafts snapping flush at the top of the ferrule. Once on the course and once at the driving range. The stock graphite shafts have a good feel. It was bad luck for the two that snapped. Very happy with the way the 201's perform and wouldn't change if one of the major brands gives me a free set!!

  22. The 201's remind me of a set of Mizuno MX-25's I played with from 2007 to 2012. I really liked the feel and ball control of those Mizuno clubs and ever since I saw the Takomo 201's, I wanted to see if they played like the old Mizuno's. I always have liked forged, cavity back irons even though I currently play PXG forged, hollow body irons.

  23. I had my 301s bent 2 degrees strong, $5 per club, but I also have a set of 201s that I changed the shafts to project x LZ 120 gram, have yet to play them yet because I love my 301s with Nippon pro shafts so much

  24. I've been playing the 201s for 3 months and they are keeping my brand new callaway apex cbs out the bag. They have fantastic feel, forgiveness and front to back desperation is great. I'm a 1 handicap and highly recommend them to anyone regardless of what handicap you are because the forgiveness is unreal

  25. I've been gaming the 201s for the past year. They are the real deal. They outperform the PXG XCOR2s and the Apex 21s. Glad you took another look. I am an 18 hcp and since switching to the 201s, the iron game is the best part of my game. The feel and sound are great, and they are sneaky long and forgiving while providing workability.
