  1. Great work / vlog gents. Good call “when there’s rubbish there’s rats “ Question spod mix : Hemp, corn, and crushed Bug boilies 👍🏻🎣

  2. Have you lads thought about filling it in like they do on certain channels as that seems to ALWAYS get them the fish on every trip.
Whatever you decide I will still watch ya both.

And as they say ONLY LEAVE FOOTPRINTS. Fair play for highlighting the issues at this place.

  3. Well done both of you, Hugh for catching his first Colne Valley Carp and Shaun for having the sphericals to tell it like it is. Some people would shy away from such a "Thorney" issue, especially you tube contributors . On a personal note, my spod mix at this time of year would probably consist of freshly made hemp with its juice, crumbed and whole small boilies and a selection of micro pellets covered with a good splash of matching boilie glug. Avv Ittttt.

  4. Brilliant honest rewiew of a new venue. I use hemp, sweetcorn and a mix of boilies will liquids.

  5. Top rant mate and top video as always my three Ingredients in a spod mix would be hemp ,sweetcorn and pellets !

  6. Great vid guys and well mentioned about the noddys rubbish it is very frustrating 🤬my mix is sweetcorn chops, pellet and some amino 👌🎣

  7. Cant believe the crud people leave behind genrally though its not real fishermen its the ones that only come out in the better weather and drink and smoke and be loud and then moan they dont catch .
That aside got to be boilies of choice sowsed in liquid the day before sweetcorn and hemp

  8. Nice one brethren, no need to cover the place in shit, literally in some cases! Hugh obviously put Hemp, Worms and Sweetcorn in his mix, same as I've started doing recently, boy does it bring the fish in, mostly Bream in my case 😢🤣🤣🤣🎣☕

  9. Absolutely spot on with the rent fella. Would love to hear the fisheries response to this.
I’m not saying it their responsibility at all it’s ours as anglers. But surely people are booked on to a peg and as such can be held responsible if the issues are raised Not trying to come across as a snitch but this is our sport and we should be passionate about protecting it. Top video again gents. 😊

  10. Top 3 for the old spod, hemp, corn and chopped 12mm boillies ( edited. Oops 😅)

  11. Well said on rubbish, as far as the mix is concerned, boilies different sizes, including chops, pellets again different sizes and some liquid coating the boilies plus some powder to coat the boilies, I.e. DNA insect meal.

  12. Hemp maize and tiger nuts ,keep the vids coming 👍 well said about the rubbish disgusting not the word , God knows what there houses are like

  13. You are so right Shaun, bailiffs need to take note of who is on what swim and ban them if there's any rubbish. I would definitely add hemp, pellet, corn and boilies whole and broken. Top this off with an oil to match

  14. Rubbish is my biggest annoyance in fishing and people in general, there are zero excuses for leaving rubbish around, you take it to the venue you can take it home again its as simple as that, more poeple should be banned from venues for this reason, all they do is ruin beautiful venues fro themselves and others and put wildlife at harm. Welldone for calling it out!

3 ingredients for my spod mix this time of year would be, trout pellets, sweetcorn and hemp.
Just classics that never let you down.

    Great video again lads 👍

  15. The people who leave rubbish should be ashamed of themselves…unfortunately it seems to becoming more prevalent…thorny weir is a established day ticket carp waters its a shame that the minority are spoiling it for those that respect there surroundings …fisherie owners start banning the culprits.

  16. Hemp, sweetcorn from the can, pellets and some jazzed up and coated boilies. Finished of with only a little dressing of hemp oil n a heavy oil to compliment the mix 🤪🤪🤪🤪 I just read that back and it nearly sounds like I'd order that for my self. We treat them well and feed them like Kings. Which is why the majority are so passionate about keeping the environment how we found it. Its the perfect platform and a respected angler with an audience. It was noticeable your discomfort on the subject but I feel it was relevant and the right place and the time to broach the subject 🎣🎣🎣🎣

  17. My go to spod mix would be chilli hemp and maize 🎣🎣 well done for the rant people don’t deserve to fish if they litter

  18. A worthy rant on the rubbish front in my eyes, the 3 items I will always have in a spring spod mix are 12mm bollie, hemp (where aloud) & chopped worm

  19. Completely agree with the rant about the rubbish, definitely not acceptable on fisheries!

Spring mix would be: 12mm boilies, corn and some 6mm pellet

  20. Thank you for pointing out about the rubbish about the place there's no need for it It's been brought to the lake so it can as easily be taken home as for leaving exroment this is another level there's absolutely no reason for this i have fished lakes with no toilets i just take my ridgemonkey toilet leaving rubbish dose two things It's not good to look at and it encourages vermin nobody wants to catch wells disease rant over

  21. I am new to trying to carp fish and still have not caught a monster, but I am not giving up.
I have asked around and so far tried sweet corn, chopped earthworm, and dampened corn flakes cereal with kool-aid drink mix blended in and frozen before going out. I've also tried earthworms, bread, and boilies. I'm just going to keep doing some more research and trying your mixtures.
I'm happy to have found your video.

  22. Good news, it’s mid July 2024 and they have just completed an intense de-weeding project on Thorny. Massive respect to Dave and all the gang involved in such an undertaking.
    Thanks guys.

  23. Great to see someone actually saying about the rubbish. For the competition my spod mix would be sweetcorn, pellets and boillies. Always been a winner. 😊
