The actual line is more sinister. After the entire town listened to Gene's character 'Bill' whipping 'Ned' (Morgan Freeman), Bill says to Ned, 'And when their lies ain't the same as your lies. Well, I ain't gonna hurt no woman. But I'm going to hurt you…and not gentle like before.'
Gene Hackman, pound per pound one of the greatest actors of all time
It was a perfect movie. It begins with the script. The character W.W. Beauchamp, the writer, provided continuity, a hierarchy, as he moves from English Bob, then to Little Bill Daggett, and finally to William Munni who spurns him. Brilliant plot device. Schofield Kid who was in it for the glasses but finally saw he wasn’t like Will Munni. The brothel mamasan Strawberry Alice. Everything was so perfect Shakespeare couldn’t do it better.
When Gene gets mad, he is really mad. And he will hurt you, and yell at you, and destroy you. He is the Best actor ever. Like in 1978 , when he was in Superman part 1. Hs didnt care that he knew that Miss. Tessmacher's mother – lived in California and was to ge destroyed by the missile that he aimed there. He just shook his head, like nooo, not any more….
' but my mother lives in California '….. Not any more , nobody lives in California… Gene Hackman
“…I’m gonna hurt you, not gentle like before, but bad…”
One of the best lines in cinematic history
Such a great movie. Perfect is the right word to describe it. RIP GH
Great movie. Great actors.
Hackman was a great actor in The Conversation too.
Unforgiven is far from perfect. Watched it recently and the flaws are numerous.
Colonel Rhodes finally reunited with Frank.
When Unforgiven first came out, I went to see it. I walked out of the movie theater stunned. By far and away the best western I had ever seen and almost completely unlike anything that had come before. I literally said to my friend, "if this doesn't win best picture, it is a crime."
He "is"? You mean "was". 😂
Damn! Imagine getting praised on your acting chops from this legend!
Morgan Freeman…… what a great man and actor
Unforgiven isn't even that good
Morgan Freeman is just fantastic.
“I just love how he beat you in that scene” gleefully giggles
Good thing Alec Baldwin didn’t play Gene’s part.
Shows and movies are made from micro-scenes.
Two leading actors rarely act together in micro-scenes.
Unforgiven??? No where near perfect simpy
Hated the movie when they killed the innocent kid.
He didn't deserve to die at all.
Gene was completely serious and every role he ever did.
Unforgiven is a masterpiece.
Rest in peace. His range was amazing. He seemed like a good man, too. Just a real person
"not gentle like before"…..
My favorite one of best ..love jesus because he loves us first
Richard Harris!!!
Legend!!!
The guitar legend himself ..jimi Hendrix
Great Movie, Great talent in the movie.
In Morgan Freemon's head: "Please don't be a method actor, please don't be a method actor!"
I too believed him😂
In the next few years all the greats will be gone 😪
Awesome! I just watched it again tonite!! Lost count how many times I’ve watched it
Best Western mr Morgan Freeman was soooo amazing
The Quick and the Dead is my favorite Gene Hackman Western and his tragic shootout with Dicaprio playing his son lives rent free in my mind!
