It’s officially tee time in Troy!
Members of the Troy High School Golf Team Wednesday joined Mayor Carmella R. Mantello for an opening tee shot on the first hole to officially open the Frear Park Golf Course to the public.
Mayor Mantello expressed her excitement for the opening of the course saying,
The opening of the Frear Park Golf Course is always an exciting moment that signals the start of another great season in one of Troy’s most treasured green spaces. From seasoned players to first-timers, this course offers something for everyone. I want to thank our incredible team for their hard work in getting the course ready — and I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy the fresh air, and take advantage of this beautiful course right in our own backyard.
A temporary restaurant is also set to open at Frear Park in late April, offering a place to grab a bite to eat, a cold drink, and relax throughout the season, while plans for a permanent restaurant are in development. The temporary restaurant is part of a larger overhauled renovation of Frear park which includes brand new pickleball courts, playgrounds, and improvements to walking trails that focus on safety and accessibility for all, including those with intellectual, physical, and developmental disabilities.
Tee times are available to be booked online.
