The Mililani girls golf team is heating up at the right time.

The Trojans claimed their third consecutive OIA championship this week at Pearl Country Club, braving blustery conditions to secure the team title and build momentum heading into the state tournament.

Oregon State commit Kate Nakaoka led the charge, capturing the individual crown as the only golfer — boys or girls — to shoot even-par in the league tournament.

Nakaoka’s steady play paced a dominant team performance, with all six Mililani golfers finishing in the top 15.

Mariko Yonemura placed third, followed by Kady Matsumoto in fourth. Nakaoka’s younger sister, Mia, a sophomore, finished eighth, and Kieran Florino rounded out the Trojans’ top-five contingent with a ninth-place showing. Brynn Yonemori finished 15th.
