CLEVELAND — The fairways are open across Cleveland Metroparks’ nine golf courses and golfers are ready to tackle the season.
Cleveland Metroparks announced several key tournament dates for golfers, along with special events set to occur later this year.
“From lessons and camps to amateur tournaments and special events like Moonlight Golf, Cleveland Metroparks has a golf opportunity for all ages and abilities,” said Cleveland Metroparks Director of Golf Dave Donner. “This year, we’re also celebrating 100 years of Little Met Golf Course and continuing major improvements at Seneca Golf Course.”
In 2024, the parks saw a record-setting 415,600 rounds of golf played across its courses. Overall, the rate of play is up 50% from pre-pandemic levels.
There are two events at Little Met dedicated to its 100-year anniversary including the 1925 Golf Outing on May 17, where guests can play by the original golf rules from the early 1900s and wear vintage attire, and the Centennial Moonlight on Aug. 1, where guests can explore the course after dark.
Course championships will be held at several courses, including Manakiki, Sleepy Hollow, Shawnee Hills and Seneca. Cleveland Metroparks will also host Moonlight Golf among its special events.
The 2025 Cleveland Amateur Championship Series is also coming to the fairways this year, including:
Cleveland Metroparks also said the final nine holes at Seneca Golf Course, which closed last fall for construction, continues. Since 2011, when the parks acquired the course, 27 of 36 holes have been renovated. A driving range is also going to be installed alongside the continued construction.
